Getting menstrual cramp, feeling suffocated and back pain sounds like pregnancy as well as period. You know your period appearance better than me any anybody. If these cramps are different and you never experienced before then I want you to take rest, not to think so much and not to stress out. If you have EPT home then take a test in another two days, from your first morning Urine.
If cramps continue and period is in queue then it will show up in a day or two.

You visiting to General Dr. or OB is not a question, if insuarance allows then go ahead and get blood withdrawn for beta-hCG. Otherwise also hanging calm for two weeks is OK, if you are pregnant you will get your blood work or ultrasound in two weeks.
