Hi all,

I am a mother of 1 year old weighing 60 kgs with a height of 5ft3inches.
My problem is that i have lot of fat deposited in my tummy (40 inches) and waist(38 inches). My hands,legs,shoulders and face is very lean and skinny. If anyone looks at these part of my body, they will think i am patient. My cheeks are hollow which make me look older than my age
I have been like this from the age of 26 yrs after a typhoid attack.( iam 37 now)
Please advise how to get chubby cheeks or at least remove that hollow look from my face and reduce fat in my tummy. I am a vegeterian and my diet is of boiled vegetables & rice. I dont eat anything of fried foods or sweets. I hardly use any oil for my food. I was thinking if i shud try VLCC . Pls advise

smitha, try to do more balancing asanas from yoga. It acts like strength training while improving your overall health. Now coming to fruits then drink concorde grape juice(100%). not the one that you get at the store which is 90% water and 10% juice. Try to look for concentrate and make your own at home. Eat blueberries, black berries, raspberries etc.. Any fruit which has dark color to it is supposed to be very good for reducing your belly fat as it is good for your heart as well. Do get checked for your LDL and HDL from a specialist. Hope this helps.

smitha, the fat deposits in our body and the shape of our body is mostly dictated by genetics. I am sure you already know about this. There is little we could do to alter our genes. So, in answer to your question about redirecting your fat to other parts of your body, then i don' t think that would be really possible but would wait for others more knowledgeable than i to comment on it. You could make the fatty portions of your body look more trimmed up by trying to tone the muscles in this region. Looks like your waist and tummy are your weak areas which makes me think that you might be a classic apple shape. Cardio and intense cardio can surely help you lose weight in these regions. I started out the same way but i was fat in other areas as well only more so in the mid-section.

I didn' t quite understand what VLCC is? could you elaborate. Looks like you have already cut short of all fats in your life(no oil, boiled veg etc..). What you could do is add healthy fats to your diet which build the good cholestrol in your body. Dried walnuts, avacoda oil, flax-seed oil, sesame seed oil, olive oil etc... are very high in mono-saturated fats that help increase your good cholestrol. When you increase your good cholestrol you decrease your midsection fast. Add excersize to your daily lifestyle and you could see advanced improvement in your stature. hope this helps. Sandya.

Hi Sandya,

Thanks for your response. In my family no one has these hollow cheeks. My mom is 68 now and still her cheeks is full. My dad also looks fine. He is 71 now.

I used to do exercises in a gym before my delivery and found that i could lose fat faster in other areas comparing to my tummy or waist. Now with my daughter am finding it difficult to manage time to go to a gym. Please advise what kind of exercises apart from stretching that i can do at home ?
And oils , i am so used to avoiding it. I can take dried walnuts and what else would you suggest ? What are the best fruits that i can eat ?
