Eating Problems:paediatric psychiatrist

Could anyone suggest a good paediatric psychiatrist in Mumbai / Navi Mumbai? My daughter is a chronic non-eater, can starve herself for days on end. Have tried a number of paediatricians and they say she will get better with age. She eats just 2 or 3 dishes and refuses to try anything new. So if anyone can help it would be nice.

As you have tried a number of pediatricians all with the same opinion, so its better to wait for some time. Kids change their eating habits once they grow up and become somewhat mature. Kids like the old stuff and trying new is a challenge for them. My daughter used to hate pizzas when she was 5-6 yrs old but now she gorges on them. So food choices change as one grows. Wait and watch

true. food preferences changes. my brother used to puke when he used to taste shrikhand but now he can eat a whole tin of shrikhand. i used to hate milk now i cn drink it plain also

I do not think that paediatric psychiatrist is right for your child at this stage. Most kids are fussy eaters. They are quite picky in their food habits. Instead of consulting a psychiatrist, try to make food appetizing for her.

yah psychiatrist is not an option. kids are very choosy while it comes to eating. so be patient and try out new things every time.

I agree. A small child does not need a psychiatrist to help her eat but a caring attitude. My son was also a fussy eater. He seldom sat down to eat and was very fussy while eating vegetables. then I tried giving him these foods in a different form. I make innovative items for him.
