hi sandhya n all,

im new to this board.
i got very inspired by ur comments.
abt me,im a stay at home mom in ireland, with a baby boy who is 11 months old.
im 5' 7' ' ,weighing 73.4 kgs now.wen pregnant i was 86 kgs,then gradually reduced till date.My goal weight is between 62 to 65kgs(my weight bfore preganancy)
so i joined the gym last week near my home,i would burn 100cal in cardio,100 cals in cross training,50 cals in biking,30 cals in rowing,20 cals in streching...so totally 300cals in 45 mins everyday.

i am following the below diet food plan.

breakfast:

kellogs al-bran with fat free milk n with blueberries(rich in anti oxidants helps to reduce weight)

1 cup of green n oolong tea(to reduce weight)

lunch:

2 wheat tortillas with vegetables(babycorn, mushroom, red capsicum, onions, peas)sauted in 1 tsp of extra virigin olive oil.

or

whole wheat pasta sauted with the above vegs.

or

wholemeal pitta bread with the above vegs.

or once in a while wild brown rice with moong dhal.

with all the above meals,i would hav 1/2 cup of fat free yogurt.

snack:

1 wholemeal bread with 1/2 tsp of weightwatchers jam.

1 cup of green tea.

Dinner:

Would b alternative of the lunch menu specified

or

fruits

Before bed:

I drink 1 tsp of cinnamon powder mixed with 1/2 tsp of honey and then mixed with 1/2 cup of warm water(to reduce weight)

Note:v used to go out for dinners or lunch, once in a week.i would prefer chicken or salmon, and no red meat or cheese.

following this schedule for the past few weeks im reducing 1 pound a week.

So sandhya n friends, plz suggest valuable suggesions regarding my weight loss, and is there anything i should change or do.motivate me!!

regards,
sruthi

hey shruti, when i said that you cannot reduce your hip size then i meant the original bone size from one end to the other. You sure can reduce all the fat surrounding it but your original hip size would remain the same. That´ s what i meant. Some ppl have really wide hips which is supposed to be very good for having babies naturally and also supposed to look very appealing according to studies. But i know a lot of women agonizing about their big hips since i think they don´ t know how good they look. That´ s what i was talking about. Anyway, i´ am sure you losing 4KGs from the hip area had nothing to do with your bone structure, so keep it up.

about the copper-T and bleeding then i suggest that you should consult your OBGYN just to make sure that nothing is wrong and that you are not pregnant for sure. No family planning method is 100% safe, so it´ s better to not take any chances. Wish you all the best. Do let us know if we can be of any further help to you.

Shruti, Welcome to the weight loss club. You seem to be doing really good with your diet. Wish i had that kind of will power to resist food. Since i can' t resist food, i try to eat only healthy stuff. But you know what? they all convert to calories whether healthy or not. Anyway, i' d be the wrong person to talk about abs, since my abs are the worst looking. Yes, about butt and thighs i can talk. By doing cardio such as cross training, running, walking, bicycling etc...you can strengthen your thighs and legs. When you build muscle, you' ll lose some inches there. But don' t expect to see pencil thin thighs since we Asian women are born with strong thighs. Butt can be improved by doing squats and you' ll also notice a great deal of improvement with cardio also. Nobody can change your hip size, so remember that. Hope it helps. Keep up all the good work.

If your diet plan works for you then it is the one you should stick to. Since you are losing one pound per week which is the healthy way to do it, you are doing real good. Combine with the exercises, I think you are on your way to your goal. Make sure you take a multi-vitamin as a supplement.
Regarding exercises for abs - when you do an overall work-out it will eventually help you in reducing your tummy. Crunches are the best for tummy. It will take time but be persistent and do it in proper form. You can do all the crunches in the world but with a poor form, it ain´ t doing anything. So remember form and breathing all the time.
Also remember to keep your abs engaged (pulled in comfortable enough to breath without pooching out) when you are exercising. This will help you build strong ab muscles and also give you strength when you begin to get tired. You are on the right track so good luck and keep us posted.
