Hi !

I have a 1 & 1/2 yr old toddler girl who is quite fussy in eating. Sometimes she will go without milk or breakfast or even lunch and dinner. She is not fond of milk and nor is she fond of eating her normal meals. She is quite underweight but very active. Has recently lost a little weight even though the doctor is not that worried but how can a mother just let go of things !! How much gap should i keep in between meals ? Any suggestions ? Which foods are most poplular amongst your kids ? Please post some suggestions and recipes if possible ! I am so worried about my little one ! Thanks !

Hi Aarthi!
I perfectly understand what u r going through coz the same happens with my 16 month old girl baby. My Doc has asked me not to be worried too inspite of her being underweight.
I find problems feeding her too of late. But I have been able to cope up to a large extent by following this routine.
1. Feed breakfast followed by milk b'coz she won't eat after she drinks milk. will give her pancakes( american and indian), cereal mixed with a marie biscuit, idlis, upma etc
2. will give her fruits for mid morning snack....around 11
3. for lunch, will give her rice, daal or saambar, or chapaathis in milk or daal around 1 pm...
4. after nap...she takes a cuppa milk and if she feels like i give her crackers or bhajjis if i make or a small piece of home made cake sometimes.
i makecookies too at home...so i worry less about the nutrients.
5. she is ready for dinner by 7.
i give her half a cuppa whole yogurt in every meal...so i guess she is ok...
sometims she skips the snack...but nottu worry.

infact the snacks and milk time...she sits in her high chair and feeds herself..that avoids any frustration and helps her learn too...that is the time i eat something too..so we r both happy.
Quesidillas make kids happy too.
good luck....
