I have 3 months old son and his hair started to
fall off. when he was born he had lots of hair on his head and now they are falling. I do use warm castor oil. and also he has cradle cap. Could you please advise me on what i can do. I would really appreciate.

Thanks in advance Hetal replied. infants upto 4-5months do shed alot of hair,,,all normal,,they regain it once they are out of the bed, crawling and getting busy with cruising around.
its all coz of constant head rubbing with bed,dry/flaky skin cz of new environement around than wombb.
they are adopting to surrounding atmosphere and are maturing,,and they spend most of the time,sleeping,tumbling or rolling in bed only !!!! so it happens..
and if after 5-6months, still your babies continues shedding hair,,talk to your dr !

cradlecap = The gentlest treatment is to simply rub a small amount of baby oil or olive oil(avoid too sticky oils like castor oil) onto your baby's scalp. castor oil is good for babies above 6months or later..
Wait several minutes for the oil to soften and loosen the scales, and brush them away gently with a soft brush or a dry terry-cloth washcloth.
In most children, cradle cap is gone by 8 to 12 months and often long before that.
Cradle cap is diagnosed by physical examination. If it has not improved with simple treatments by dr evn after several months after baby 1st bday, other diagnoses will be done and other tests may be necessary..
Generally, cradle cap does not need to be treated as long as it doesn’t bother you or the baby.the only thing is Sometimes it may be itching.

Preventing the rapid scalp growth and active sebaceous glands of cradle cap is not easy (or desirable). Frequent gentle shampooing may prevent the build up of scales.how frequent, you decide, what your baby can handle.

however if it gets inflamed or gets red in colour, or looks swollen then ring your dr.
