Hi,

My son is in kendergarden. He never shares with us what he has done in school. When he in a good mood, he might utter few things but when we ask, he changes the topic. What can the reason be,

My son is 5ys old now. We too faced the same problem.
My husband use to ask him what he did how day is was and before asking him he use to tell what he eat for lunch how his day was.
Now he himself asks us, how our day was and he will start telling us what he eat and what he did.
He never use to open up, now we can't stop him from talking
They are only kids. All they need is us to give them quality time and attention that's what makes them happy. Once they are happy, they will go out of way to do what ever you ask them to do.

Rakesh,
My 6-year old son also had the same problem. I have tried asking him in all possible ways, then I started telling that I had seen him drawing in his class, reading a story book and such things. When such conversation statred he came with response in eagerness to correct me, saying that he was not drawing but painting.

I also tell him what I did in the office the whole day. That really used to open up him more. Then in excitement he used to talk what happened at school.

All the Best

Rakesh,

My 4 yr old is also the same. The more we ask, the more he refuses to tell and in the school, they say we don't ask him 'properly'. Then I tried round-about way asking him. For ex., instead of \";What did you do at school?\";, it will be more like \";Did you draw a cat today?\"; or, \";Did they teach 'Twinkle Twinkle'?\";. Before anything, I ask him whether he was happy and enjoyed the day, or anything was bothering him. It works most of the times. But, never expect an answer whenever you ask. It solely depends on his mood. Same with us also right?

Hi Rakesh,

My 9-year old son also had the same problem.Talk as much as you can share when he is in good mood. See how he can be in that mood (good) most of the time.
Tell him your experiencs of what you did when you were in school.

Be at it , don't get disheartened, he will open up slowly & surely. Most important he needs to feel secure & loved to open up.

All the best
Meenakshi
