Hi Vimi
You need to see a pediatrician...babies can pass stool many times a day or once in many days thats normal as long as she continues gaining weight and doesnt have any major disorder..continue exclusive breast feeding(I mean donot give anything apart from breast feeding)....probably she has diaper rash too...keep area dry and let your doctor examine and he may prescribe soothing cream containing calamine, zinc oxide or a combination of mild steroid and antifungal for local application and it would be ok.....

Subject:  my 2 month old daughter passes stool all day throu

Hi,

Am really concerned about it, though her pediatrician is not. He passes stool at least 12 times a day, is breastfed, she passes little little stool when she cries or sneezes .. because of this her nappy rash is becoming worse. Any suggestions are welcome... Also i see Vimi having the same problem with her daughter, did u find any solution? how long did it last? Mine is going on for more than a month

At the same time the child is feeling some pain So try to understand and consult a doctor.... - sharmasanvi [View Message]
RE:bowel movement in 2 week old infant
Some babies go through phases when they either can't use the muscles to empty their bowels or they "forget how to". In that case, it's safest keep using the suppositories daily to make them do a dirty in 5 minutes.... - Su 03 [View Message]
RE:where can I get laxative?
You can get either glycerin or bisacodyl suppositories in any Indian pharmacy - I recommend saving money by not buying child-size ones, instead cutting adult supps in half to make a child-size dosage.
(I have a daughter with long-term bowel issues: she can't "do" without them!)... - Su 03 [View Message]
RE:constipation
When the baby is in discomfort from constipation (especially if she hasn't done some dirty for two days or more), the first thing you should give is a glycerin suppository.... - Su 03 [View Message]
RE:hi
Most doctors say banana doesn't help - the potassium in it makes constipation worse. Remember you can make your own prune puree in a blender. Grape, grapefruit and papaya are also laxative fruits. And remember you can safely use baby suppositories as often as you need to (they also help with "training" the baby to do a dirty at the same time every day)... - Su 03 [View Message]
RE:Baby Movements/Development
Consult a good doctor immediately as this should not be ignored as it will cause a big issue if you let it go now, please seek doctors advice on immediate basis.... - Aditi [View Message]
RE:Baby Movements/Development
Hi Karthik this is a serious issue and you should look into this matter very seriously as its concern with your own child and you cannot let things go, have a good consulting done by a good doctor.... - Amaira [View Message]
