Bowel and Bladder Movements:2 year old..yet not potty trained.

Hi Moms...I am worried about my 2.3 years old daughter who does not listen to us all about things related to potty manners. She is otherwise very intelligent and does unexpected things just like elders do..but her only issue is with potty manners. And a lot of times she refuses to wear her pants or innerwear..and is very cranky about it...and gets aggressive when i force her.

She does not tell us that she wants go to teh bathroom..and neither does she tell us when she has already done potty in her pants..we have to make out with her different actions...and I am always busy in teh kitchen in the morning hours when she needs some1 to make her sit on the potty stool and get her used to it...so its just going on stretching...and i feel helpless..

Pls advise.

Hi,

I had the same problem with my daughter who is now 2.2yrs old.To b honest i guess more than the child it is we who try to take the easy way out because disciplining a child can be quiet tedious. Even i kept on delaying potty training assuming that when she learns to talk she will automatically start informing me about potty but trust me that didn' t happen my daughter spoke everything except informing abut her potty, thats when i realised that i have to train her and trust me it took exactly a month but now she has learnt to use the loo. What u need to do is try and inform her everyday that she is a big girl and she needs to use the bathroom just like all of us.Apart from telling her u need to encourage her to use the loo, specially the times like after waking up in the morning u need to make time for her and take her to the loo. Even if she doesn' t do it make her sit in the loo for some time. The day she manages to do it, appreciate her, eventually she will get the message.Just remember u need to be consistent in ur training and have loads of patience only then will u be relieved from this problem. So start the training today and do it everyday for a month and then u will be a happier mom.

RE:Baby cries while passing urine - Hetal pls advice
At the same time the child is feeling some pain So try to understand and consult a doctor.... - sharmasanvi [View Message]
RE:bowel movement in 2 week old infant
Some babies go through phases when they either can't use the muscles to empty their bowels or they "forget how to". In that case, it's safest keep using the suppositories daily to make them do a dirty in 5 minutes.... - Su 03 [View Message]
RE:where can I get laxative?
You can get either glycerin or bisacodyl suppositories in any Indian pharmacy - I recommend saving money by not buying child-size ones, instead cutting adult supps in half to make a child-size dosage.
(I have a daughter with long-term bowel issues: she can't "do" without them!)... - Su 03 [View Message]
RE:constipation
When the baby is in discomfort from constipation (especially if she hasn't done some dirty for two days or more), the first thing you should give is a glycerin suppository.... - Su 03 [View Message]
RE:hi
Most doctors say banana doesn't help - the potassium in it makes constipation worse. Remember you can make your own prune puree in a blender. Grape, grapefruit and papaya are also laxative fruits. And remember you can safely use baby suppositories as often as you need to (they also help with "training" the baby to do a dirty at the same time every day)... - Su 03 [View Message]
RE:Baby Movements/Development
Consult a good doctor immediately as this should not be ignored as it will cause a big issue if you let it go now, please seek doctors advice on immediate basis.... - Aditi [View Message]
RE:Baby Movements/Development
Hi Karthik this is a serious issue and you should look into this matter very seriously as its concern with your own child and you cannot let things go, have a good consulting done by a good doctor.... - Amaira [View Message]
