Hii i know this is not the right board for this but i am not gettin a reply in the milestones board. i want to know when do babies start to talk like when do they start sayin proper words...my baby is 1 year 1 month and can only say mama dada baba papa....and some kinda blaberring which we cant understand. I want to know when will she say proper words like baby..biscuit soo on. I was reading on a site ysterday that a 13 month old baby can say hello bye easily but my baby is not sayin any proper word. I am reallly worrried. Plzzzz lemme know.
Mel replied. Absolutely fine. Babies speak at different ages. What she says is fine for her age. Some babies can recite the alphabet by Age 18 months, and some can barely string sentences by age 2 and a half. BOTH CASES are absolutely normal.

And a baby who speaks earlier is NOT MORE INTELLIGENT OR A FASTER LEARNER THAN BABIES WHO SPEAK LATER. So, let her be. Play nursery rhymes (CDs, not VCDs), so she can hear the alphabet song and popular rhymes, and speak to her in slow clear sentences. But, don' t go bananas about it. Don' t play rhymes all day long or do anything for extended periods. Half an hour of rhymes should be fine.
