Problems in School:My daughter

I' m totally new to this board. My daughter used to go to a small creche to a lady and it was a small group of 6-8 children she had. As of last week I have not put her in a Montessori school and at the orientation party she seemed to be fine and the 1st three days were fine. But as off yesterday she has been crying when I left her and then one of the Directress' s took her away and she was fine when I got to work and called in. But today she was consistently asking for me and they called to say she was very unhappy the whole day asking for me every now again.

On coming home she says she doesn' t want to go to school and no matter how positive and reassuring I make it sound to her that school is great blah blah blah and the fact that I will drop her, sit with her for a while, then leave and come back in a few hours to fetch her she says no. She wants me to spend the whole day with her there. I am assuming from this that she has absolutely no problems with the school she enjoys herself but her insecurity is of being there along. I really don' t know what to do if any one of you can help me out. I am totally new to this because my son who is now 7 loved school from day 1 and we never had any problems and so I don' t know how to deal with this situation.

Don' t worry....she will get used to it in a month or so when she gets used to her teachers & children over there. You' re right....it is the sense of insecurity. I am sure there are other children also in her class who are feeling the same. My son used to cry a lot when he started his playschool....for about a week he was crying the minute I used to leave him at school and go. Then the princi suggested that I don' t come and drop him at school....should send some other family member or send him in a school van with other children. I started sending him in a school van and from second week onwards he stopped crying. Normally teachers in good schools are adept in handling such children. keep intouch with the teachers after your child settles down.
