jagan replied. Hi, I am jagan working in ITPL. Vagdevi school is one of the best CBSE schools that i have ever seen in and around Marathahalli. I was recommended by one of my colleague(a parent) to put my son in this school. I have no regrets till now. we have to take all feedback into considerations and the school also collect feedback from all parents, students, and staff. They respond to most of the querries(that' s what my friend says) and i am not quite satisfied with the transport arrangement. Most of all i am happy to see my son going to a school which teaches values and indian culture and he enjoys it too.
Dr.Prerana replied. This is the scool which we really need in the land of culture.May be thats one off incident you have come across. As a parent i have experienced many good things. Teachers n Principal are so humble and down to earth people who co-operate very well with us in up bringing our children. You have heard about the school standing at a distance my suggestion is you step into the school and c, your experience will be extremely contradictory for wat u have heard about
Sanjay replied. At the outset , I would like to clarify , that I am not connected in any way to Vagdevi Vilas School in Marathalli, Bangalore East. I am neither the parent/ relative of any student nor an employee. I just happened to witness an incident which shocked me and has haunted me ever since.
On Saturday ( 29-Aug-2009), assembly was in progress. A child was up on the stage, administering an oath to the school. He missed two lines. The principal reprimanded him severely in full view of the entire school. She used words like \" Shame on you! You have missed line 3 and 4. You have repeated this so many times, yet you don' t know.\" The public address system was on and her voice could be heard over quite a distance. Then a smaller child was called on the stage and he proceeded to read minister the oath. After this the principal addressed the children. All this while, the child who was admonished, stood on the stage.
It was quite obvious, that the child had forgotten the lines due to sheer nervousness as he was facing a large crowd. Because of this very human lapse, he was accorded this severe public humiliation. We hear and read a lot about child abuse nowadays but when physical abuse is meted out, the scars and bruises are visible. Though they are painful, they heal over time. Psychological abuse, the kind this child was subjected to, has, in all probability scarred this child for life and has undermined his confidence severely. Also, the impact of this incident on the children who witnessed it will not be a positive one. It would discourage them from public speaking.
Incidentally, the principal, Mrs Sridevi, who inflicted this this punishment on the hapless child has an entire wing named after her - Sridevi Block. I visited the website of the school. One of the objectives of the school mentioned there was that they \" iron out the rough corners of a child\" . The method employed in this case was quite brutal. Rather than building the child' s personality, it would have effectively demolished it.
I entreat all parents to take note of this incident and deal with school proactively so that it is not repeated.
vishnu replied. One of the worst school i have ever seen, education is also bad, and they try to collect as much as possible, every school they collect admission fees once at the time of admission, but this school collects every year collects 7000 towards annual fees and 7000 for activity fees and additionally term fees , plus they increase the fees structure with 25 to 30 % every year, horrible , when we try to speak to the principle she says it is management decision we cannot do anything, then why is she sitting in that chair , Hope you find some other school for your child, other wise you will be in soup by the time your child completes education. thanks
maameera replied. I agree with what has been posted. We had gone there, we saw two kids (7-9 age group) had hurt themselves badly and there was no proper care. We ourselves were feeling bad but could not help anything. That' s a sad part.
Other thing which I liked about the school, they do not charge any large amount of money under the name of donation. So financial burden is not there but it is only of good value when there is someone to take care of your kids at your absence.
Akhila replied.

Yes. I agree to you Dr. Prerana & Mr. Rajeev:-). I am a parent associated with this school from its inception. One of the schools which has culture, hospitality, good staff and last sunday they had invited parents to form a cultural forum involving us in various activities and we had a lot of fun. It was a day full of making friends, swimming in the newly constructed swimming pool and enjoying the games throughout the day. looking forward to the next forum.
