ANd now that is 2 .. she has become very very stubburn and woudl want only want she wants.. In everything she is adamant and now feeding her is a bigger challenge.. She just wont eat... esp sitting in a place and eating is no absolutely no.. I get so tired of tryin to get her to do that..
Then she wanst no veggies or dal or anything .. She will eat palin rice plain chapatti.. she gags on it but will have nothing with it.. I make parathas she spits it out.. No khichdi ..
Every Afternoon, i dread lunch time.. its a battle field for me.. all she will eat is plain rice .. I am not sure how nutrious it is for her.. and then if im a lil sern with her. she will yell and cry .. cry cry till she vomits everything out.. im so fed up... i donno what to do.. she is hardy 11 kgs and i atleast that she eats something nutrious however lil it is.. but no..
Please i have begun to dread meal times... Can someone tell me what to do?

Hey Aradhana and Mel,
Count me in too :-))
My son is ditto of the same scenario. sicne iam working my mil ahs to do this war-athome during lunch and she is verrrry tired and feels hungry after this whole episode, but not my son!!!
and when i go home and take even a soon in my hand he thinks i am going to feed him and runs exactly oppositeto the direction where iam. so is the weekend lunch and dinner.
so we have looots o fuss around ti, but we still continue just to make him understand tht him being fussy is not going to stop us from doing whatever we are doing now. else he may take it to his advantage!!
and moreover iam planning to check for nido 1+ and would begin it from this month.. since he would be 2 this month..
and now, what we are doing is,, putting up some bisuti pieces or conrflakes or anything snakcy in a plate and leave it in a place where he would be sure to pick. and then we dont even mention that he shud eat it.. as expcted he picks up that from the plate one by one and eats it :-)
this seems to work (donno when he wud relasie this trick and start opposing it but for now this is a hit solution)
see if it works for u too..

seeya
!!

Although my daughter is just 8 months old , but feeding her is tough! I am drained completely now and Aradhana believe me , I share the same sentiments as yours. She eats just 2 or 3 spooons of the medium bowl I offerand refuses the rest. She is actually underweight and looks so thin. I really hope she develops good eating habits while she is growing.

I seriously think that our kids must have been twins in a past life or something. Just as you said in a previous post that you feel like you are reading about your daughter, when I read your above post, I feel like you are speaking about my son.

He' s exactly the same. He doesn' t like to eat, mealtimes are a battle. And when he' s really hungry, he' ll just pick a few grains of rice and eat that. That too... just two - three teaspoons quantity.

Sometimes I' m so fed up. Anyway, here' s what I noticed. He seems to like noodles. Whether we get it home, or take him out, the only thing he will eat is noodles. He doesn' t like Dal either / parathas or any curry.

So, here' s what I do. I cook the rice or noodles with lots of veggies and chicken stock. So, even though he won' t eat the veggie pieces, at least the nutrients have leached out from the veggies into the rice / noodles while cooking. Try that. I also add bits of chicken sometimes.

And another back up thing that I do is I give him vitamin drops twice a week or so. Multi-vitamin drops / Mimorange-L just once or twice a week just to be sure. I' ve also started Junior Horlicks since he' s almost 2.
