My baby' s fourth month will start from tomorrow.
Till now my baby is on BF.I tried NAN1 formula but she rejected it.

I want to start formula milk as i have to go to work in 15 more days.

What do i need to feed.Can i feed any semi solids.If yes please suggest.It is very urgent Mary replied. Well if you cannot breastfeed then you wold need a Stage 1 infant formula.

So you want to know what kind of food would you like to provide the food that you will get the list from the parents and you can feed with the baby of your food which you get from the doctor also. Mel replied. Please DO NOT FEED HER AMUL SPRAY OR DOUBLE TONED MILK. Babies are not supposed to have any of that till at least 12 months.

She doesn' t like the taste of milk that is different from breast milk. So, continue with Nan 1, or Lactogen 1 till the age of 6 months, then switch to Nan 2 or lactogen 2. What you have to do, is change the way you introduce formula.

Most babies will not make a sudden switch from breastmilk to formula... and most don' t like the transition from breast to bottle. So, you have to work on both.

What you can do is very simple, but you have to be meticuous in following it:

Buy a good breast pump and express milk. Put only breast milk in the bottle and give her. She will taste it, and once she realises it' s her favourite drink, she will drink from the bottle. Do, this for 2 days. You can also breastfeed her directly. Add the bottle sessions at whichever time you plan on giving her formula (i.e. work timings).

2: On the third day, give her the usual bottle of BM, mixed with 1 oz of Lactogen / Nan formula. She will not even realise the difference. Continue for 3 full days.

3: On the 6th day, reduce 1 oz of BM and add 1 oz of formula.

4: On the 9th day, reduce 1 more oz of BM and increase 1 oz of FM. Very soon, she will be largely formula fed.

But, remember, it may take more than 1 and a half to 2 days to slowly get her used to the idea of drinking from a bottle. So, be patient. If he/she doesn' t take it immediately, don' t force, and don' t get frustrated. If they sense our nervousness, that makes things worse. Be calm... and if she refuses the bottle, try offering it when she is sleeping (nap as well as night time feeding).
