We want to perform the Vidyarambhana pooja for my son. Can someone guide me how to go about it ?

What all is needed for the pooja ? Auspicious days ? Any specifics about what we should wear, what my child should wear ? What is the process like ? How do we go about performing the pooja ? What is the right age / age-range of the child for performing this pooja. I really need help urgently.

In our culture(i am a keralite),vidyarambham is done on the Vijayadashami day.we do it when the child is of 2+yrs.normally people do it in temples and the priest there does the poojas(main god for vidya is Saraswati).he makes the child write \" harishree ganapathaye namah\" and malayalam alphabets in rice which is placed in a thali.also the same thing is written again with gold in his tounge.if there are lots of people in the temple,it is done by one of the parents instead of the priest himself.The child and parents wear traditional dresses.for us it is,kasavu mundu for the child,and father and kasavu sari for the mother.and the child give some dakshina to the priest who do does it.also it can be done by elders in the family,reknowned teachers,poets etc according to the parent' s choice.
