Hi my baby is 7 months old. Her weight is 6.9kgs birthweight 2.5kgs. I have formed a routine diet plan for my baby i need suggestions to know if i am following the right plan.
Morning: rice cereals/oats
mid morning: pear/apple
lunch: suji/khichdi/mixed veg purree (carrot,frnech beans,beatroot,potatoe)
evening: farleys rusk biscuit mixed with milk
dinner: mixed veg purree

Plzz suggest if this plan is fine. Also can u let me know when can we start with juices for our baby and if its really important. Also when can i start giving her chicken purree.

My baby is otherwise breastfed i want to introduce her to little bit fo topfead coz it becomes very difficult for me when i go out. But she is not ready to accept formula i am tryin from last 2 mnts. She just cries when she takes the first sip. I have tried nuk bottle..avent but didnt work. Can u suggest what to do. can i mix anykind of choco powder to her formula may be she likes the taste. if yes which brand and which powder can i add. Plzz give me suggestions as i have no one here to guide me

You' re very welcome.

Yes, you can give her boxed yoghurt. Even here in India, I give my son boxed yoghurt. Home made yoghurt tends to be a bit more sour.

Veggies you can try are yellow pumpkin, yam, sweet potatoes, cauliflower, spinach, etc. Apart from veggies you can also give her egg yolk (boiled egg)(white to be given only after completion of 1 year), but make sure that the yolk is thoroughly cooked through.

Hi Sana. Your routine seems fine. Only dinner seems a bit light. If she is willing, try and add a little bit of pureed rice and dal to the veggies. So, that her dinner is a bit heavier. You can start giving her rotis as well as chicken puree after she completes 8 months.

It' s not about the bottle. Your baby doesn' t like the CONTENTS of the bottle. NO CHOCO POWDER or flavours at this point of time, please.

What you can do is very simple, but you have to be meticuous in following it:

Buy a good breast pump and express milk. Put only breast milk in the bottle and give her. She will taste it, and once she realises it' s her favourite drink, she will drink from the bottle. Do, this for 1 week. You can also breastfeed her directly. Add the bottle sessions at whichever time you plan on giving her formula later on.

Week 2: Give her the usual bottle of BM, mixed with 1 oz of Lactogen / Nan formula. She will not even realise the difference. Continue for the whole week.

Week 3: Reduce 1 oz of BM.

Week 4: Reduce 1 more oz of BM and increase 1 oz of FM. In 2 months time, she will be largely formula fed.

All the best. Let us know how it goes.
