Hi Ketaki. For your first query about hiccups. Hiccups are caused by expansion of the diaphragm. It is not to do with milk entering her wind pipe, and it is certainly not a sign that her hunger has increased. That' s nonsense. Most babies get hiccups. They will subside normally. If it doesn' t subside within 10 minutes or so, then offer her a little milk.
For the second query about night feeding, if she is gaining weight properly, then she can sleep for upto 4 hours undisturbed. My son never used to wake up in the night. He would keep his eyes shut and without breaking his sleep, he would make some small noises for a feed. If I would offer his a feed, he would hungrily open his mouth for the bottle. It could be the same with your little girl. Let her sleep for 3 - 4 hours, then, without waking her up, offer her a feed. She will feed in her sleep. But, try not to let her go for more than 4 hours at a stretch.
Third, the bowel movements should subside with the medication that the doc recommended. But, remember to clean her bowel movements immediately as it is acidic and causes nappy rash. However, when babies have loose motions, they invariably develop nappy rash. Buy a small tub of vaseline. (the cream coloured tub with the blue label.) It' s the only thing that works for my son. After cleaning her bowel movement, pat the area dry, and then apply a thin film of vaseline. The rash will subside within a day or two. Keep applying vaseline after every bowel movement until the loose motions stop. Then just cleaning and drying will be enough. The doc had prescribed some allopathic ointment for my son' s nappy rash... I used it once or twice and it actually developed a scar - a small grey patch. So, I discontinued it and used only vaseline. The rash cures and there is no damage to their delicate skin.
