Let me update u with my problem.I am ttc since last 1 1/2 years.All the initial labwork (my husbands and mine) and my HSG are ok with the doctor.
Since,I did not get my period till the 3rd June(was expecting 1st June),the doc got the blood preg test done.... was -ve,he prescribed Norethin Ace for 5 days ,i should expect my periods sometime now(today 8th june will be the last day of the medicine).
He has also prescribed Clomid 50 mg form the 5th to 9th day fo the cycle.Then he will monitor with Ultra sound and blood estradiol.
My ques is about Norethin Ace what does this do and how does it work ?
Also what are my chances of getting pregnant with Clomid 50 mg?How many cycles does a person normally need? Archie replied. Dear Rohini,
First of all your doubt on Norethin Ace:
It's the hormonal therapy. Preferably given in the cases of Amenorrhea (lack of menses) or sometime in Endrometriosis (a painful condition in which the lining of uterus is abnormal).
May be your Dr. gave this to induce your periods.
I know some girls who experience irregular periods are treated with this and sometime it takes a while to get it worked.

About Clomid. The dose of 50 mg is beginning dose. It's really difficult to estimate chances of conception without knowing status of ovulation trouble. If your problem is only at the ovulation level then even 50 mg like starting dose would work for you.

If your periods were normal and you did not experience period, you would like to give a trial for another blood test.
