this month I had IUI. Timing was perfect.. still I dont feel it worked.. I have all the symptoms which I usually get after ovulation.. I have heard that if you notice any symptoms other than usual symptoms then you may be pregnent..is there any one who had all the usual symptoms and didnt think that they are pregnent and ended up in pregnency? IUI procedure is very simple and also it don't hurt at all..but before IUI u have to follow up with doctor to check up follicle size.. so if u are doing unmedicated IUI then depending on when u ovulate(it can be made guess from ur menustrual cycle history) u can check up on cd13 or cd14 for follicle.. if ur cycles are long more than 35 days or irregular then medicated cycle is better in this case..medicated cycle means eaither clomid or gonal f injection..Doctor usually try clomid first..so once follicle size reach 18 or above(18-25 follicle is considered as mature) HCG injection is given to induce ovulation
with HCG u suppose to ovulate withing 36 to 40 hours..but be careful that if have LH surge before HCG,then ovulation can happen as early as 12 hours of HCG injection..
ON the day of IUI ,ur DH has to give sperm ,,it will take 1/2 hour to 2 hour for washing.. so after sperm washing they insert washed sperm with small cather tube inside ur uerus..it is painless procedure..

As for as my experience.. I had done two unmedicated IUI and one with clomid,,yet to have success.. but still there is hope as doctor said that it can take as much as 6 IUI .. one should try 3 IUI with clomid ,if that is unsuccessful,then 3 with gonal f ,,and then one should consider for moving on to other options.. chetna replied.
