My 8 months old son has lost appetite ever since he was down with fever. Prior to that he had a minor fall too and had a cut in the gum. Now that seemed to have healed. But he is not taking interest in eating at all and crying if forced to eat.This way he will never gain any weight and will become weak. Any suggestions ? Hetal replied. hi,
losing apetite is often a result after a high fever or any infection. interest in eating when it comes to kids below 1 year is often because of some uneasyness related to it..and since they are very very moody and like to fuss when eating,,its tough for mothers to struggle with foods in their mouth.
since you said he had a cut in his mouth, which you seems to have healed ! but it might be the case, that its not completely healed,check with dr or c if he allows you to check his mouth..
also, try offer variety of foods that you have introduced,,by 7-8 months, some babies are become very choosy in eating,,c what your baby likes...try changing the texture or thickness of food as well,,might help..also try offering finger food,,c if he likes it..
just keep a check on his weekly weight and the minimum intake that he takes..talk to you ped about it !
