Trying since long:Laparoscopy required ???
2012-06-02
Name: Stacia Val

I am a 29 yr old married woman trying to conceive for the past 1.5 yrs, however unable to do so. I am diagnosed with mild PCOD. I have also undergone two cycles of Clomid. Recently, I had undergone a HSG (as advised by my doctor/infertility expert) . The diagnosis was that I have bilateral cornual block, which the doctor anticipates that same have may been caused by a spasm ( FYI, I was relatively calm before the HSG procedure, however did experience pain during the HSG)

Now, my doctor has advised me to carryout a laparoscopy including bilateral cannulation (if required) and TB PCR test. Though, laparoscopy is minimal surgery, I am not very comfortable with any surgery (due to fear of complications / future problems). Both my husband and I are mentally prepared for IVF, hence unsure if laparoscopy will benefit or be detrimental to IVF.

Please advise if I should carry out laparoscopy as advised by the doctor or carryout a 2nd HSG. I have also heard about Selective Salpingography ( without undergoing laparoscopy), please advise.
FYI, my husband’s sperm count is normal.
