Dear all,

My 5 month old baby is suffering from disturbed motions since last 1 month.He is passing motions after every feed ,ie,around 5-6 times a day,sometimes it' s yellow bt sumtimes its green,seedy and with mucus.His dr is saying this is due to viral infectin which is accompanied by cough,cold ,mild fever & vomiting.He has not prescribed any antibiotic yet.Hes simply giving him Derolac sachet & sum coough & cold preperation.My baby is on Lactogen 1 & i am scared of introducing anything else due to his disturbed stomach.
Pls suggest me if i need to change the dr or his body will fight with viral infection automatically bt its been around 1 month facing this problem.Is there sum home remedy for it.I am mainting proper hygiene with bottle feeding bt he keeps on putting everything in his mouth.
Can i introduce apple sauce or daal/cerelac a this stage or I should wait until his stomach is settled .Is 5-6 times poop in a day is normal?

My son is 9 Months old and 2 months back he was having the same problem of diaria. I ma in US and doc didn' t give any medicine to him they told us it is viral and no need of medicine. BUt diaria shoul get recovered by 15 days.
Since ur baby is having problem from last 1 month I think u should reconfirm it with another doctor. Just make sure baby will drink plenty of water. Since she is diarated I think you sholu give a trial to new food.

Shilpa deepti replied. there is no point of increasing any other food till the infant is able to digest the previous meal , but for proper digestion give him bonnosin (himalya) medicine which is just like muglie ghutti and used for digestion in infants sonia replied. HiMonica..first of all thanks for ur reply..my son' s bottom is fine right now..there is somethin m gonna tell u after which my son was fine....apply whatever med ur doc has given or i will tell u mine but right now m not able to recall the name....just after applyng the med just put lots of powder on it..lots of means lots of..and do that at night...one of my friends has told me and really it helped him...she said the med we apply gets rub with baby clothes so just put powder on it so tat it can affect the area..so just try this also....

about ur this query it seems like u r telling me the story of my son..same happened with him alos after recovery from viral,cold and cough...same thing wsa happening..as soon as he finish his meal..he used to pass motion..i visited doc alos and he said there is some infection in the stomach which happens in child after viral..so he suggested me for a course for 5 adys..again he has given a list of handfull of med :( te be very frank..just two days back my son came to his normal diet he used to have before his viral..bache sab khana chod dete hai itni med ke baad :( so my mother told me to give him mugli ghutti..i dont 9 if u will believe cz so many ppl dont..but actually it always worked on my son as he was small like ur son then also i used to give him mugli ghutti 555 but anyhow it skipped from my mind now then my mother remind me and i thot to try it for one day ..i told my hubby let me try for 1 day if it will not work we are already havin med prescribed by the doc....cz i dont want ki wo phir se sab khana peena chod de itni med kha ke..and believe me i gave him twice day before yesterday..and yesterday he had passed motion twice and today only once in the morning and potty was also not smelly like before and it was okey...as ur son is small so dont try somethin new in his dies..if u r givin him khichdi that is gud...i ma following the diet suggested by doc like he told me to stop milk for the time being and suggested banana,biscuits,curd and khichdi so m giving all that so i think u shud not change his diet rite now....howevre if u want to try mugli ghuti..i wil tell u that just give mg and eve 10 drops in cold water(i mean normal water lil bit)

so every thin will be normal..dont worry but wait till his stomach is normal before introduce anythin new....if poops are normal the it is okey for babies having potty 5-6 times a day..
