Hi,

My daughter is 17 months as well and fussy and picky eater like your son. She was not gaining any weight after 1 year, also because of her eating habits and daycare (they are not patient like us, moms).
So, experiment with what he likes! For e.g I found out initially that she likes khicdhi so I added our cooked vegetables/chicken gravy/scrambed eggs (put less spice, as it can give constipation to kids) to her khichdi, add little yogurt, she liked it. Now, one day I was eating noodles, she asked from my plate.....she loved it so much and now wants to eat noodles only....but doesn' t like the added stuff.
Also, pediasure comes with fruits and vanilla with fiber, try that. Give it your son for every meal he misses.
You can also try strawberry/choclate/vanilla milkshakes, just figure out the things he likes with patience.
My daughter drives me crazy too, but now I put her favorite shows on TV, sometimes she gets so absorbed in the show that she forgets what Mommy is giving her. Just have patience with this, everybody tells me-\" It gets better\"
Good Luck!
