Hi,
My due date is 29th march and i am not aware whether using diapers in indian climate is safe. Can you please guide. I don´ t want to use nappy because it will involve too much of hassles. Also, if diaper is safe then which brand and type will be best for new born. also guide about wipes and other essentials. I stay in gurgaon and i hope i will find required things at shoppers´ s stop.
Thanks in advance for guidance.

Hi,
Best available diapers for the kids are PAmpers but do not ever buy the indian one go for the imported Pampers diapers easily available at most of the prominent stores.
Ask for New born baby size (only imported)
Most of the Chemist do noot understand buy ask specifically for the foriegn one and they will arrange the same.
Say no to plastic nappies not at all comfortable and good for the kids.
Cotton nappies are easily available in markets chemist shops etc.

Kuchees, huggies, johnson' s nappy pads are also available which are sufficient for 1-2 hours .
If possible use cotton nappies in the day and pampers diapers at night.
All the best

One more thing... you will get ' huggies' and ' johnsons' nappy pads in india. They are quite useful. Its like a pad which can be pasted inside the nappy (langot) and keeps the baby dry for a few hours at a time and provides the necessary circulation of air also.

Hey, you will get cloth diapers in most of the kiddie stores which sell clothes and other stuff for infants & newborns. In mumbai, where I am basically from, we get cloth diapers or ' langots' as they are called in small-small shops in shopping plazas etc. Not sure if you will get that in a big shopping mall. Anyways, you will easily find them...

it took me ages to remmember wot we called the homemade nappies so i think if i am not wrong they r called LANGOTAS, ask your mum or any elder person in family to help u to make them or the best will be if they can make them for u. my mum brought some from india so they r available in stores, for that u need to go to baby stores. u live in gurgaon so try baby shop in shopping malls or some where in south delhi. regarding plastic panties its can only be benefit to the person who is holding baby but not to baby in anyway n will make noise n can disturb baby while sleeping if i am not wrong.

hi! i would advise u not to use diapers all the time in india. make him wear cloth diaper and plastic panties on it if u don' t want hassels as the diaper is bound to leave rash on the bumps. i am in belgium and i don' t have a choice but use diapers but i still try and keep him in cloth nappy for some hrs.

if i was u i would have used homemade cotton nappies an only used diappers at night time or out n about and as summer is nearly there n u know about indian summer n with use of diappers babies hardly get any air to their bums which is not good. i live in uk so i have to use diappers otherewise my carpet would have smelled as u can imagine, plus its cold here but still i leave my son without nappy every time i change him. i have always used pampers dippers and wipes as they r best. i tryed huggies also but cotton in it use to get broken etc so was not happy with it. its everyone personal choice. but if u choose to go for dippers then make sure u leave your baby without diapper everytime u change n use good nappy rash cream (i have used johnsons nappy cream for my son) u can find them in mothercare, chemist etc, hope this is any help.

At the same time the child is feeling some pain So try to understand and consult a doctor.... - sharmasanvi [View Message]
RE:bowel movement in 2 week old infant
Some babies go through phases when they either can't use the muscles to empty their bowels or they "forget how to". In that case, it's safest keep using the suppositories daily to make them do a dirty in 5 minutes.... - Su 03 [View Message]
RE:where can I get laxative?
You can get either glycerin or bisacodyl suppositories in any Indian pharmacy - I recommend saving money by not buying child-size ones, instead cutting adult supps in half to make a child-size dosage.
(I have a daughter with long-term bowel issues: she can't "do" without them!)... - Su 03 [View Message]
RE:constipation
When the baby is in discomfort from constipation (especially if she hasn't done some dirty for two days or more), the first thing you should give is a glycerin suppository.... - Su 03 [View Message]
RE:hi
Most doctors say banana doesn't help - the potassium in it makes constipation worse. Remember you can make your own prune puree in a blender. Grape, grapefruit and papaya are also laxative fruits. And remember you can safely use baby suppositories as often as you need to (they also help with "training" the baby to do a dirty at the same time every day)... - Su 03 [View Message]
RE:Baby Movements/Development
Consult a good doctor immediately as this should not be ignored as it will cause a big issue if you let it go now, please seek doctors advice on immediate basis.... - Aditi [View Message]

Hi there please be calm and relax as it happens sometime the child takes little time to start walking or crawling also but in your case the child should have started crawling if not walking.... - Anita [View Message]
