hi all,
i have gained only 4 kgs till now, is that weight fine, most of u have already gained upto 10 kgs. my doc says it ok.
what about all of u?

Hi Gals..
I am really feeling jealous... Only 4Kgs... great yaar.. so after delivery you don't have to think of reducing the weight.
I don't know how I will manage in reducing the weight.. after delivery and still 3 more months... and no idea how much will I gain....

Hey girls..i have also gained only ard 4 kgs and i just started my 7th...
but my doc says...that 'm healthy and the baby weight is gud and growth is also very fne..so no worries ..and also feels that we all fall into the slow weight gainers category..also..intially i was very worried..but after my frens here in SG told me of many examples like us..who gave birth without any issue..now 'm not worrying,,,
by the way,..u guys are checking up the baby's weight in every scan rt??

Hey I am in my 24th week now & I have gained only abt 9 pounds till now.. Thats like less than 4 kgs.. I too feel worried sometimes.. Plus I am not showing too much..Like someone had mentioned before ..no one can make out I am pregnant when I wear loose clothes..:(:(..But doc said everything is fine.. Still I hope atleast I start showing by end of 6th month.

Facts about weight gain:

1 )The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists recommends a weight gain of 25 to 35 pounds during pregnancy, for women who are at normal weight when pregnancy occurs.

2 ) Women who are underweight should gain about 34 pounds, unless your doctor says differently.

3 ) Women who are overweight should gain about 20 pounds, unless your doctor says differently.

4 )Eating low fat meals will allow you to gain weight correctly for your pregnancy. Putting on weight that is unnecessary is easy to do when eating junk food and foods that are higher in fat.

5 )Eating a well-rounded diet is important. According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, pregnant women should have 4 servings of milk, 3 to 4 servings of protein (2 to 3 from animal and 1 to 2 from legumes/nuts), 5 servings of fruits and vegetables (2 of Vitamin C, 2 of Vitamin A, and 1 of another), 4 servings of whole grain products, and 2 servings of other.

Weight distribution:
---------------------

A) 7.5 pounds is about how much the baby will weigh by the end of pregnancy

B )1.5 pounds is how much the placenta weighs

C )4 pounds is attributed to increased fluid volume

D )2 pounds is the weight of the uterus

E )2 pounds is the weight of breast tissue

F )4 pounds is because of increased blood volume

G )7 pounds is attributed to maternal stores of nutrients and muscle development

H )2 pounds for the amniotic fluid

Total: 30 pounds

On a trimester basis:

First trimester: 1 pound per month

Second trimester: 0.5 of a pound per week

Third trimester: 1 pound per week
