Behavioural Problems:5 Yrs old refuses to fall asleep
2016-11-15
Name: Sabyasachi

Hi All,

My 5 yrs old son refuses to fall asleep. Both at night and in the afternoon when we want him to get a nap. Most of the times he gets very sleepy, we keep telling him to fall asleep, but he would pretend to be asleep and keep awake. We tried to discuss this with him as well. He said he is afraid to get scary dreams that’s why he keeps trying to be awake. Since last six months we are brainwashing him that there is nothing to be afraid of, he sleeps with us, so nothing can harm him. But the problem continues.

I don’t think he is afraid of anything. Since it is going for a long time now, the problem lies somewhere else. He is getting very little sleep because of this. He needs to get up early in the morning to catch the school bus.

Do anybody have similar experience with child? Can you please share? We are looking for ways to solve this problem.
