Hi All,

I' m giving my daughter pressure cooked, mashed apple in a pureed form. she finds it very sour, so eats little quantity only. i tried adding little honey to the puree, but she didnt like that taste. i read in some article on ayurveda, that milk and fruits shudn' t be mixed. so i' m really wondering what to mix with the puree so that she likes the taste of it. how do u ppl manage to feed apple puree to ur baby?

thanks
padmaja

Hi Padmaja,
Prao is exactly rite. since same with me .My daughter eats apple well for particular type ,for some apple with sour taste she won' t have . If ur daughter don' t have teeth then u should boil , mash and give ,since apple r not easily digestable. so try with different apple and found her taste .Don' t mix anything since they have to know which fruit they need or like.

try using a different type of apple. I used Fuji apples for my daughter.. they were quite tasty even when cooked & pureed

How old in your baby ? if u r adding honey she must be over a year or at least 10 months
If so u can try apple milkshake (without cooking it)
I believe that this theory of not mixing fruits & milk applies to cirtus or other fruits which r highly acidic in nature. it is ok to make milk shake with fruits like apple, mango & banana
(This what I have concluded after reading up on these things.. I' m no authority on aurveda or nutrition :)

Another option for u is to add the apple puree to her cereal.. she may not notice the sour taste then
