hi friends,

my son is 16mo old right now. from last few days he is not eating any food except biscuits, grapes & sometime carrot. from the begining he is not very interested in eating so i put some toys in front of him & while playing with them he eats then i let him watch carttons while i feed him sometime he eat sometime not but i thought once tatse will devlop on keep eating that food he will be abel to eat properly. i gave him everything dal rice khichadi with different different vegetabels & chapati etc.. but from last one week he just don't wanna to eat anything i tried differet foods also but no.. he will eat biscuit or grape but nothing else. he want to watch the tv but don't want eat. if i force him he either spit the food or just keep in the mouth & not chew it. i am just getting helpless. i don't know what i will do . so if u have any suggestions please let me know.

Hi,
Your baby may be having teething problem. Bcoz i had the same problem when my daugther was in ur kid's age. So try some foods which are chill--icecreams, yoghurt. They cant chew anything so dont worry if he is not taking food.

hi, i have 2 boys, my second is 16-month old and doesn't eat properly. I usually feed pediasure milk, rice kanchi, ragi kanchi or complan after he has slept, I feed a few times in afternoon, at night. ATleast I don't feel so worried that I don't give any nutritions for my son. Be sure to rise his head while feeding the milk and watch him a few times. This is the only method I could feed my son as he is very smart that he will not allow me to put anything in his mouth while awake. He is terribly active, has already started talking many words, dances instantly, very much interested in all games, toys, even TV serials !!

I had the same problem with my daughter then what i did was increased the timings between the 2 meals. Did not give baby any snacks between the meals. You can try and increase the timings and then see if it works. I am sure there will be a difference. Dont pester your child I am sure he will show attention and interest towards eating.
Regards
Wafia

hi wafia,

thanks for responding me. i already tried that method. the main reason is he don't wanna to eat rice dal, chapati or bread or pasta anything that count as a meal. even for the breakfast i have to give him somthing to keep him busy. i thing he got used of eating that way(distracting) but on the other hand how he eats grapes & biscuit without any distraction. my main problem is he don't like any grain which is normally the main part of diet. if u have any suggetions let me know.
thanks
smrati.
