Trying since long:IVF - Please help

I have been advised to go for IVF. In our case, both of us have problems. PCOD and Vericocele.
1. is it necessary to have laproscopy done before IVF ?
2. Are the superovulation injections painful ?
3. Is the embroyo transfer painful ?
I am planning to get it done in Gunasheela. Anyone who has done it there ? Please help.

Hi ttc,

I went to Gunasheela and I too had PCO problem. My husband’s sperm count was normal. They advised me to have a laparoscopy for treatment to the ovaries – “drilling” before they started the treatment. I had 1 cycle of IUI which failed and they advised me to go for IVF. I have been married for 12 yrs and had several IUI’s elsewhere. I am very happy to tell you that I got pregnant and delivered a beautiful baby in August this year. I have not visited this site before but I was surprised at the things that the people have said about Gunasheela. My experience is completely different.

Yes, there is a long waiting time, but they see a tremendous no. of patients. They make enough time for patients to clear their doubts. Both the senior n the junior Gunasheela’s are gud. Obviously they cannot see each and every patient bcoz of the sheer nos. But they r both hands on Doctors and they assign the counseling of infertility patients only to their senior assistants. I got to knw all these only bcoz of the long hrs that I had to spend in the hospital. The place and their working style grows on u and I really had a very wonderful experience there. I do not knw if this would help u to decide.

Thanks Sups.
I am worried about the whole procedure, the physical and mental agony.
In the end, I hope it works for us.

Hi Dear,
there is nothing to worry abt.Yes the injections cause a bit of pain but in the end what u get is just priceless .U will forget all the pain u went by .It is worth a try .
secondly do not worry just be relaxed .Remember 2 much worry and anxiety can lead to negative result .Faith in procedure/Dr./ur self and above all god will definately bring positive result .
All the best .Go ahead with a tension free and relax mind .
B very positive .Do not think whether it will happen or not but just think it will " Definately happen "
Positivity makes a lot of difference in this procedure and this I say from my own experience
All the best

Thanks Sups.
How is Dr. Firuza Parikh ? Does she give individual attention ? do I have to go through junior doctors first ? does she do the egg retrieval and ET herself ? What are her charges ?

Hi ttc,

Dr Parikh gives individual attention and does all the procedures herself, including the monitoring thru USG. She´ s a very sharp, focused and confident doctor. Her junior doctors first review a new case and then pass it on to her.. She meets each patient and discusses the case.. therafter she may advise you to go in for some tests, if needed.
I guess the overall cost comes to about 1.5 lacs or thereabouts depending on the injections you are given..
Good Luck!

Hi ttc,

To reply to your queries..
1. Laparoscopy may not always be needed.. it depends on what your doctor is looking for.. The health of your tubes, and or prescence of any fibroids can hamper the implantantion of the embryo.. So probably she wants to rule out these if you' ve been advised to go for laparoscopy.. You should ask your doctor the reason
2. Superovulation injections are as painful as any other injection..
3. ET may be painful.. it depends on the skill of you doctor too.
4. I have done one IVF cycle at Gunasheela and it failed. I was not too happy with the place, i had a traumatic time there. But i don' t want to discourage you if you' re going for treatment there.. Please think and decide on the best doc and do not just go for any doc just bcos its convenient for you..
Good Luck!
