suman replied. Hi
I have a 8 month old and I was back to work when my little one was 4 months. But I gave up my 8 hour full-time job and took up a 4 hour part-time job. I try to adjust my schedule such that my child is baby-sat as less as possible. I leave early to work and return home by lunch time. My husband leaves at usual time - a little later than I leave.
See if you can get a job like that atleast temporarily.
Ruchi Shah replied. Hi! Dear, It's is a matter of priorities. If you need the job for financial reasons then you must as a comfortable financial situation is for the child but if you want to join for your career then I would say you rethink. A few points to ponder -
- A childs immunity develops till he is two years age
- no one can take better care of a child than his or her own mother
-children who stay with maids the whole day are more prone to infections
- you ceratinly don't want your child to speak your maids langauge
- this time will never come back
-there is no greater pleasure than to see your children grow infront of your eyes.
Manish replied. Hi Gayatri,
First of all you your self justify the need for the job for your family. If the job requirement to just for yourself, and not needed financially for your family. Better be with your child, as this is the time when you and your child needs each other maximum.

geeta replied. I am a mother of 2 yrs old child and my childhood has been spent in creches so i dont prefer leaving my child in a creche if you have anyone to look after your child behind you and you can surely rely on him/her then youmay join your work but I think the person should be responsible enough to take care of your child-a part of you with the utmost care as you do
Priya replied. I had decided before my baby was born that I wanted to be there for her. But once you have been working and lived an active social existence, it becomes difficult whan your only stimulaton is Sesame Street and Cartoon Network. I don't regret my decision, because I keep myself very occupied with my internet business. I really miss the social interaction with adults that I used to enjoy earlier. But being with my baby and enjoying her formative years more than makes up for it, especially because my mother worked and I never enjoyed my childhood as a result.
kiran replied. hi, I was a full time office goer till some months ago. While looking for a decent daycare for my son, it struck me that none of the available options were what I wished for my son. then I decided to do something to fill this gap, since I feel too strongly about the right of mothers to work outside home, and also the right of their children to a happy, enriched childhood experience. So, I gave up my corporate job, and set up a Daycare, SHINING BEACON. It is in Andheri(W), and I aim to make a real difference to the quality of care available to children. For l'il one of 2-3 years, we also cover the entire Playgroup programme, plus for all the kids we have lots of fun and activities and learning opportunities. we focus on wholistic growth, covering all aspects, i.e, physical, emotional, intellectual and social. Neetu replied. Hi Gayatri!! Im a working mother and have been working since my little girl was 2 mths old. It is no doubt difficult leaving ur child to a mother in law or anyone else but then its fine if you get to spend time with your child and belive me your child will be more independent once he / she becomes big and once they start schoolking its no problem at all. Your child is a yr old so I think its perfect for you to go back to work
motherV replied. Dear Gayatri,
I have been working since my son was five months old, he is now 11 months old and enjoying himself with his dadi and cousin sister. yes its difficult, work... cooking... cleaning....home.... husband (very important).... baby... but its possible if you want to work. and you know whats the best part..... coming home to my baby.
do as you feel right....
N replied. This Guilty feeling of going back to work will always be there. 1 yr old is OK.They can communicate and tell about all hurts, wanting something etc. Also they now want to play more and after a while when a child is 18-19 months they need to see other kids AND play. SO don't worry, Your child will become more social if he/she stays with other people...................
Go on if you feel good
