5 Things Parents Must Say to Motivate Kids

Parents can help to boost confidence of children again and motivate them when they are feeling sad, stressed or depressed. Here are few things which parents must say to their kids to motivate them and encourage them to do their best.

Parenthood is not an easy job. Raising your kids as a happy and confident human being is tough and engages every day learning, activity and experiences. Living with the challenges and gaining experiences from them is great and all you need to make sure is that your kids get to learn the same. Here are 5 things that you must say to your kids to motivate them and make them feel confident, happy, and ambitious, which can help them fight tough moments in their lives and find peace and happiness.

1. “Never Give Up; This Is Not the End”

Time will come when your kids may feel stressed and depressed. Your kids may think nothing is working correctly, nothing is at its place, and may break down. It is your responsibility to utter those words: “never give up; this is not the end”. Because this is not really an end, the whole life is ahead. If your kids cannot fix a thing, then help them choose a different way to achieve the thing, and do not give up so easily. Boost them with confidence and ask them to keep trying unless they achieve what they want. Ask them to take up a new way of doing it, a new strategy, to get new results, if the old way is not working, but never think that this is the end.

2. “I Believe in You”

You believe in your kids – you have to make them realize the same. The propulsion power of the words – “I believe in you” – can do magic. Your kids may not want to study and feel sad that they cannot score. But you need to show the confidence in them saying that you believe in them, and then wait for the wonder. They will try not to fail your faith and belief on them, and will surely work hard to not let you down.

3. “It is OK to Fail”

Do not put pressure on your kids if they could not bring A+ grade, if they could not win the painting competition, or if they could not win the race. “It is OK to fail” – you should remember this and at the same time, you should tell the same to your kids. People who are great at something did not start off greatly. Every expert started out as a beginner – and you should allow your kids to know this and grow his persistence, effort, and patience with every failure and learn from the failure to work better next time.

4. “Learn from Every Oopsie and Ouchie”

Every time your kids drop something, break something, kick something, spill something, hurt something, and repeat these words – “you got to learn from every oopsie and ouchie”. Tell your kids that we all make oopsies and ouchies – but we just have to try and do the same by avoiding the oopsies and ouchies the next time we do. Discuss with your kids what they learnt from their mistakes and how can they be careful the next time.

5. “You Are Protected and Loved”

We all know parents protect and love their kids. But it is really important to make your kids feel the same. Show them that you are always with them in their ups and downs. There are many ways of saying “I love you; you are safe” to your kids. You can make it a goodnight ritual, or before your kids leave for school, with kisses and hugs. These beautiful words boost your kids’ self-esteem and motivate them.
You do not have to literally keep saying these words every day to your kids as a routine assembly, but sprinkle these words every day. You have an intrinsic responsibility to show your kids how loved, valued, and protected they are. These words can create a loud, infinite echo, which will last long till adulthood of your kids.

How to boost confidence of children? How to teach children to deal with success and failure? How to motivate children if they are sad, depressed or feeling stressed due to some reasons? Discuss here.
