When you become a dad your sense and share of responsibilities increase a lot. Since your financial expenditure shoots up you have to work harder too apart from trying hard to find out quality time for your little angel. All this can make you feel very exhausted and this is when you should use the following tips.

1. Get some Daylight

Walk for at least 15-20 minutes on the way to work. This way you will increase your exposure to daytime light and this has a lot of benefits like boosting levels of Vitamin D, enhancing mood and increasing the flow of energy in the body. Doing this daily is sure to reduce the exhaustion which affects you frequently.

2. Wear Some Colour

Colour has a definite energizing effect on the mind and scientists are still working to formalize the role of colour therapy on the human body. As a man you must be used to wearing predominantly neutral colours like white, black, ash, brown, tan etc to work. You can try wearing a tie in a pop colour like purple or yellow on some days when you particularly feel low on energy. There is bound to be a wave of positive energy in the body.

3. Massage the Thymus

Thymus gland is situated right under the collar bone at the very top of your chest. If you rub that area for some time; the Thymus will be stimulated and it will release beneficial T cells along with energy. If you do the thymus massage regularly for 5 minutes your levels of concentration and focus can also increase.

4. Go for a Drive

Driving on a lonely woody path or a serene shaded road will give you a sense of peace and oneness with nature. If you are the type of man who enjoys driving then take out some time every few days to go on a small drive with the purpose of just enjoying the pleasure that this activity gives you. Your mood is sure to improve.

5. Listen to Music

The therapeutic energizing effect of music can never be denied. The best way to pick yourself up when you know that you have parental responsibilities ahead is to listen to some really peppy numbers on loop on your IPod or phone. Hum along with the songs, tap your feet and feel the energy returning to the body.

6. Take a Cold Shower

A hot shower relaxes you while a cold shower invigorates. Taking a cold shower might not sound comfortable but it does give the body an instant burst of energy by stimulating the nerve endings. When you feel exhausted just take off your clothes and give yourself a short cold shower.

7. Do Some Stretches

If work and family responsibilities are not giving you scope to exercise regularly then it is natural to feel the exhaustion seeping in your life. Stretching is a fast and simple way to increase the blood circulation in your body and get rid of tiredness. Stretching down to touch your toes will instantly increase the blood circulation to the brain.

8. Use Your Memory

Think about the time in your life when you achieved something great like your promotion, some award or recognition etc. remember those positive feelings and sense of elation that you felt. Simply thinking about those achievements will re-establish your faith in your capabilities and make you feel more energized.

9. Take a Short Nap

A 5-10 minute nap is called a power nap and it is a good antidote to exhaustion and stress. All you have to do is to close the eyes and lie down with one hand on the abdomen. Now breathe for 5 to 7 seconds and then exhale smoothly for same duration. Remain in the same position for 10 minutes after which you can wake up to a more energetic version of you.
