Parenting has become tougher in today’s fast-paced world. Read on to learn about the top 10 biggest parenting challenges and some tips for parents to cope with them.

Most of the people find parenting more challenging today than it was for the previous generation. There are different pressures and aspects where parents have to face dares.

Parenting was never easy and there always have been challenges. Today, we live in a fast-paced, hectic society and this is creating new and different pressures for parents. Children are exposed to a number of things as the world is open today. The new technology, frequent changes and fast development, rapidly changing family dynamics along with an overwhelmed education system, parents face combined challenges these days.

Top 10 Challenges Which Parents Face

1. Aggression

Nowadays most of the kids are found aggressive. You should make sure that you do not respond to their aggression with aggressiveness. This is just the opposite of traditional parenting. Calm your child down and talk about alternatives and reason behind their aggression.

2. Tantrum Throwing

Even though tantrums are normal and very common, handling them is a big challenge for parents. When a child throws tantrum, she just needs empathy and a loving presence. Tantrums subside as the brain matures.

3. Whining

Whining is one of the most annoying thing for a parent. Many experts are of the opinion that you should ignore it, but the best way to deal with it is to listen to your child, find the reason behind it, offering your time and laughing things out as well as teaching your child to avoid whining in future would work better.

4. Back Talk

Back talk directly relates to disrespect and this is what hurts and disturbs parent. However, instead of quickly shutting down the conversation, you can use this opportunity to teach your child how to talk respectfully. Encourage positive communication because children need firm but fair leader.

5. Not Listening

Getting children to pay attention to what you want to say is one of the biggest challenge parents face these days. Try to have a strong bond with your child. Spend time and instead of giving orders, try to have an eye contact and convey your expectation directly and clearly.

6. Applying Effective Discipline

Disciplining is often misunderstood with punishment. Parents of today need to modify traditional ways of parenting a little and spend time with their kids so that they understand them in better way.

7. Sleep

Kids of today are deprived of sleep and this is hampering their physical and mental health which is a matter of concern for most parents. You need to push your kids and find out what works because getting proper rest at night is very important for overall health and development.

8. Internet

The immersion of kids in internet is huge. The risks are huge as well. So, you should use a filter considering the age, negotiate content, monitor and supervise. Talk to your kids well.

9. Early Sexualisation

Children are getting involved in sex much before they are emotionally or intellectually able to handle it. Parents should make sure that they educate their children and see that their voice is the loudest of all the others offering assistance to their kids.

10. Resilience

Resilience is a topic that is difficult to put forward in a straight way. You will have to figure out your child’s level of maturity in different fields and aspects before you take any kind of decision.

No matter what challenge you face, make sure you have a wise and practical approach towards the solution. Look out for reasons and work on them. Be firm where it is the matter of safety for your child. Be your child’s guide instead of being a controller and be available for her whenever she needs you.
