This might sound weird, but fathers need to be able to tolerate gross things. It might happen that the baby pees on their lap or throws up. He should not gross out at this. A good father will tolerate this happily and concentrate on cleaning it.

6. Attention

Your husband should be attentive if he is to make a good father. Kids require a lot of attention when they are small. Even when they grow up they demand attention from both parents. A man needs to be attentive and look after the baby’s needs and wants, to be a good father.

7. Adaptable to Changes

This is a quality that is required when the child grows up. Children are growing up in a different society than their parents did. There is always a generation gap. Fathers and mothers alike need to adjust to the changes that they come across due to changing times. Adapting to the changes is good but at the same time a good father must be always be particular about teaching children what is good and what is bad.

8. Has a Saving Mentality

Your husband should not be one who spends with both hands. Raising a child is very expensive. The costs grow as the child grows. School and college tuition fees are high and so are living costs. Your husband should have a saving mentality.

9. Good Around Kids

If you find your husband can already interact very well with kids and is a favourite with them, plan a child.

10. Overt

Your husband should be one who is able to convey his emotions. Dads must tell their kids that they love them and show it. He should hug and kiss the kids and bring them little token to show he loves them.

It is essential that you carefully note these traits in a man before you even marry him. After marriage, before considering a baby, analyze your husband. If you are bent on having babies try to mould your husband to make him a good father.
