Anti-Parkinsonian are used in treatment of arteriosclerotic, idiopathic and post-encephalatic Parkinsonism. Selegeline, an inhibitor of Mnoamine Oxidase (MAO) type B is the latest compound in treating Parkinsonism.  Drugs like Procyclidine, Benzhexol, Amantadine, Benserazide are best avoided during pregnancy.

As mentioned before coping with Parkinson's in pregnancy can indeed be very challenging. You can get in touch with your obstetrician, who shall suggest a physiotherapist if necessary to help you get a better body balance. Medications are also prescribed in some cases to help you cope with Parkinson’s in pregnancy.

However, there are plenty of medicines for Parkinson's that should not be given in pregnancy. Sinemet and Amantadine in high doses for instance during pregnancy are considered highly unsuitable. Although, there is not much evidence on the dangers associated with the drug intake in pregnancy, it is probably due to unavailability of safety usage of these medicines on pregnant women.

Even today there remains insufficient evidence that supports safe use of Parkinson's drugs on those who are trying to conceive or in their pregnancy. Therefore, during pregnancy you must only take the medications as per the prescription of your obstetrician. If you are already taking any medication you must bring it to the notice of your obstetrician.

The good news is there are plenty of evidences in medical journals that reports of women with Parkinson's giving birth to healthy babies. These women are reported to have stayed under supervised medication and enjoyed healthy pregnancies. Even though animal testing suggests women with pregnancy should not be given Selegiline, in a recorded case, a woman gave birth to a healthy baby after taking Selegiline in course of pregnancy.
