Dieting V/S Exercise

There always exists a debate between dieting and exercise in regards to losing weight. Dieting seems easier option for losing weight but exercise is equally important for weight loss. Any one of the two alone will not result in effective weight loss. A balance between dieting and exercise is a must for weight loss and for being fit and healthy. Read the following article to find the importance of exercises and dieting in weight loss.


Any person who wishes to lose weight faces a dilemma whether to choose a diet plan or choose exercise regimen to do so. However, a healthy weight loss involves combination of a balanced diet and a regular exercise regimen.


Balance the Two
 

When you want to lose weight, you need to give equal attention to your diet as well as your exercise routine. Both are effective means to control weight and one needs to strike a proper balance between the two in order to attain fair results. There has been an endless debate on whether a change in eating habit or a change in the exercise regimen can offer the fastest and most effective of results. If you refer to a recent study, an intelligent and simple dietary change can help you to reduce your extra weight quite fast. The less fat you take in, the more efficiently you will be able to control your weight. 


Just Sweating May not Give Good Results

In this ceaseless debate of dieting v/s exercise, you will find that a change in diet along with a deliberate enhancement in your physical activity, you can attain weight loss in a consistent manner. Most of the weight loss programs that are suggested by experts focus on a dietary change only. This entails that if you exercise your sweat out and still do not control on what you eat, you are in no good position to achieve what you have aimed for.

Exercise helps you shed the existing fat that has already accumulated in your system. If you fail to check on the additional fat that is getting into your system through food and drinks, it means that the pool of total fat gets replenished every time you eat. So, no amount of exercise can help you if this aspect goes unregulated. It is therefore all the more important that the dietary habit of an individual should be the first priority while aiming at weight loss.


Effects of Weight Loss on Health
 

It has also been observed in several studies that the overall health of the individual gets affected by the practice he undertakes.

Over a considerable period of time, it has been noticed that there is no significant change in the weight of the person who have been exercising or on a dietary change. The point to note here is that the subjects are allowed to choose one of the weight loss options – either dietary change or exercise. Short term results were easily determinable in both the cases. This rather entails that these two options give the best possible results when they work in tandem and not when they are practiced in isolation.

It also does not help the body in the long run even if you go to extremes in order to attain weight loss fast. The ideal idea behind weight loss must not be limited to just losing the extra flab, but staying fit as well. In this respect, the preference of the individual also comes into play on how he wants his attempted diet program and exercise regimen pleasant and enjoyable.

It also needs to be noted here, simple cutting calories is not the concept of dieting. When you just reduce your portion sizes, you cut calories, but dieting means that your taking the food that do good to your system and not harm you in any way. As you change what you eat and cut your portions simultaneously and combine this with regular exercise, you will discover yourself in a far better position to enjoy a healthy life with a balanced weight that suits your body type and height.
