The chances of baby using stem cells from their own umbilical cord storage are as slim as 0.04%. Undoubtedly there is a lot of research being done and stem cell therapy has a future, but most treatments are still in trial phases with very few proven success stories. As parent everyone wants to do what’s best for their children. One should definitely opt for cord blood banking. A good option would be to store it in a public bank rather than private banking. to read the details you can go to my blog smileandbealive .blogspot.in/2 015/06/about-s tem-cell-banki ng-what-privat e.html

Hi All, I am expecting my first baby and one of my friends asked me if I have picked a cord blood banking service yet. Until now have taken 3 presentations from various banks and my inclination is towards Babycell. Any inputs from users who have been through this entire process?

Hi All, I have banked my baby's cord and cord blood as we have family history of diabetes and hypertension from my husband side and hypertension & Alziemer from my side. I have studied the genetic engineering as well as biotechnology in my education. So I was fairly inforemed about the pros and cons of stem cell banking. What I would suggest each and every one of the expecting parents to, 1. Do thorough study of this technology. 2. Check the Bank if they can provide you the cells on demand in India or not. 3. Check their response time before taking the decision. 4. If you have family history of any incurable disease which potentially can be treated by stems cells, then you shoud go for it. Otherwise, take expert advise. 5. As diabetes and other silent killers can be treated with this, there is still no 100 % guarantee, so discuss with your family regarding money investment in this (as this does not come cheap). I hope this is informative. Thanks and Regards, Rina Sagare.

A really nice article. I delivered on 18th Feb, decided to bank my baby's stem cells at birth with CordLife India, the international bank operating in India. They are headquartered and managed operationally by CordLife Singapore. We decided to go with them because of their outstanding services and facilities provided. Each & every parent should consider this subject very seriously before delivery as this is once in a lifetime opportunity!
