bullying is indeed a very serious problem. bullying not only hampers the child who is bullied but is also a symptom of some inferiority complex in the child who bullies. so instead of punishments a counseling session with a good child psychologist is advocated.

No doubt there will be bullying. Can schools sponsor more events for students to mingle together in school that will reduce this?

It’s really sad to see what the world is coming to. Putting down someone who is weaker than you or someone who you know cannot fight back is one of the lowliest things one can do. Bullying in schools should not be tolerated by parents and teachers. Bullies should be given strict punishment by schools and given counseling also.

I have witnessed something similar. I don’t know if it can come under the category of bullying! My son has potruding eyes and a very big head as compared to the rest of his body. There are many times when I take him out to the mall or garden and I see children staring at him and pointing at him and laughing.. Of course it might be because they are small and don’t understand that they should not do it, but my son feels very bad !

I think children might also be influenced by the media. There is so much of violence shown on TV nowadays. There are also video games involving violence. There are video games where you have to shoot people and the player who shoots down the most number of people wins the games. I think one of the reasons for bullying could be that the children are influenced by the violence and turn violent themselves.
