Can someone help me decipher the difference between CBSE and ICSE ? Some say ICSE is tougher and more theoritical. Is it a good idea to change in class 9th ? I have recently moved to Mumbai from Hyd and am looking for school admission for my son who is in class 8 now. Mumbai seems to have very few CBSe schools.
Will appreciate any feedback on this. Thanks

There is also a third choice - state board. But today parents like us are thinking o central board... a step ahead ICSE.I purely feel my kid should get an admissionin a CBSE- as yes told above .. comparatively less tougher than ICSE but more tough than a state board. And so they can get time to other activites like sports.. music ..elocution etc... anything..
Think.. and give ur best to ur kid.

i would suggest cbse
i studied both icse and cbse icse is too tough and the kid is stucked with books` and tution
cbse is realistic and gives the kid enough time to relax and do other activites
icse syullabus has many useless things which will be of no use if kid wants to appear for any entrances
cbse syllabus matches more closely to medical and engineering entrance syllabus
english is good in icse but who wants kid to read shakespeare and bernard in 8th standard unless they want to do graduation in arts or literature
icse is too un realistic an i personally performed very well when in cbse

School Change
Don’t worry Darshna, I can understand your concern well. Before shifting, just talk to your son about his new school and the reason for changing. It would cause a serious or an adverse effect only when you change him all of a sudden without informing him. Try to say the good things about his new school and an outline of the new environment. Try to make him comfortable ab... - Ravina Singh [View Message]

Talk with his teacher
\" Hi Ashish!
Try to discuss about your son’s issue with his teacher or principal. If they don’t lend their ears, then you may assume that the problem is with the school and not with the kid. Try to change your kid’s school. Also, speak with the new teachers about your son’s behavior in prior. Definitely, a good teacher would help you in this aspect! Good School ideas aroung Marathahalli
Try Orchids International. It is one of the best schools in Bangalore. My kid is studying there for past three years and we found good progression in his studies as well as other activities. They follow CBSE and ICSE syllabus. The school' s environment is also quite good.

Schools in Electronic City
I would suggest Orchids International. It is one of the best schools in Bangalore. My child is studying fourth grade there and we find her doing good in academics and other activities. There are five branches in Bangalore and they follow both CBSE and ICSE syllabus.
