Can someone help me decipher the difference between CBSE and ICSE ? Some say ICSE is tougher and more theoritical. Is it a good idea to change in class 9th ? I have recently moved to Mumbai from Hyd and am looking for school admission for my son who is in class 8 now. Mumbai seems to have very few CBSe schools.
Will appreciate any feedback on this. Thanks

There is also a third choice - state board. But today parents like us are thinking o central board... a step ahead ICSE.I purely feel my kid should get an admissionin a CBSE- as yes told above .. comparatively less tougher than ICSE but more tough than a state board. And so they can get time to other activites like sports.. music ..elocution etc... anything..
Think.. and give ur best to ur kid.

i would suggest cbse
i studied both icse and cbse icse is too tough and the kid is stucked with books` and tution
cbse is realistic and gives the kid enough time to relax and do other activites
icse syullabus has many useless things which will be of no use if kid wants to appear for any entrances
cbse syllabus matches more closely to medical and engineering entrance syllabus
english is good in icse but who wants kid to read shakespeare and bernard in 8th standard unless they want to do graduation in arts or literature
icse is too un realistic an i personally performed very well when in cbse

Even I am also collecting information regarding the syllabus in schools. Both are equally good, but the difference is if ur job is transferable within india CBSE is good,( hindi is more in CBSE), If u want to move to abroad ICSE is good (Having more english).

This is one of the best preschools I have come acriss in recent times. It is centrally located in Kharghar Sector 12. It is very spacious with ample sunlight and fresh air for our kids. A very big and safe playzone for kids to play eveyday....a warm and trained staff as well. Supeb curriculum. So my kid is thoroughly enjoying his preschooling there.... - BM [View Message]
Nice Experience with Presidium
Hi dear

My son goes to Presidium Indirapuram too. He is in Vth grade and we haven' t had a single problem yet. Neither academics wise nor anything else. The faculty is really good and he' s really improved in his studies from before. The students even get a chance to perform or anchor on stage at the Annual Function. I guess you should stick to this school onl... - Sonam Patak [View Message]
Take Best Solution
One of my friend' s did. It is important to have the presence of both the parents in a child' s life. You could shift base to Bangalore which might be a little hard for your kid initially. But, children make friends quickly and adapt well. If you plan on moving here, I would suggest Orchid' s International School. My kid is studying there and I am a happy parent. If your h... - Riya Sharma [View Message]
Good Math Practice
I use simple things like charts cut in different shapes, papers with colourful texts and numbers, balls, even small pebbles at times. I shuffle them and make him to identify the correct number with correct shape, count the pebbles and so on.Also, you better not introduce your kid to computerised teaching aids very early as this might cause trouble - they get addicted to us... - Stutee Saini [View Message]

Just make sure that you child mingles with other kids in school. My friend recently moved from another city and her child too was acting strangely after the relocation.
