Birbal: The Musician

Birbal was gifted with amazing intellegience. Read the story about how Birbal wins a musical competition in-spite of not being a musician.

One day king Akbar had invited musicians from all over for a musical competition in his court. Musicians from all over gathered to show their talents. When they came they saw a bull standing in the middle of the court. They were all surprised to see a bull because it was supposed to be a musical competition.

King Akbar entered the court and announced that whoever would entertain and capture the bull’s interest would be declared as the winner.

All the musicians came one by one and played the most melodious and soothing music for the bull, but the bull showed no interest. It was in its own world giving no importance to any music.

The emperor was astonished to see that none of the musicians succeeded in the task. Then finally Birbal took the stage. All the musicians and courtiers were amazed to see him because he was not a musician but a minister in the court.

Birbal played his music which sounded a little like cows mooing and mosquitoes droning. To everyone’s amazement the bull found it interesting. Bull was listening to the sound carefully and moved in a happy way.

King Akbar was very happy and proud of Birbal. He declared Birbal as the winner.
