Pregnancy brings in lots of restrictions and precautions and finding all of them on your own would be practically daunting. There are certain food items which are not safe to be consumed during pregnancy. Read on to know if Chinese food is safe to eat when you are pregnant.

Foodies will be foodies! All thanks to the multi cuisine restaurants open in almost every corner of the city. Hence the people of almost all countries are able to taste the delicious Mexican food, tantalizing Chinese delicacies, yummy Indian food and the mouth watering deserts. Amongst all the variety of food, one such cuisine which is allured by most of the people is the Chinese food. People love Chinese and it is the ace choice of most of the people for eating out.
However the question is whether the pregnant women can eat it or not. With pregnancy comes lots of responsibility. Pregnancy is that one phase in which each day feels like a year, when the mother awaits eagerly for her child and so does the entire family. When it comes to food Each and every food ingredient which a woman intakes should have a healthy and nutritional impact on the growth of the baby. Thus most of the women do not take any food item unless approved by their mid wives or the doctor. And this is the correct way.
It is because the baby which is growing inside the mother, she needs take a lot of care. That is why there are recommendation on what the pregnant mother should eat, drink, the way she should sleep, the way she should walk, the clothes she should wear and so on. So even when she likes something immensely delectable it will be better to avoid it if unhealthy!

Is Chinese Food Safe and Healthy during Pregnancy?

It is very normal to have a craving of particular fried rice or the noodles. However, if either of the Chinese food has more quantity of MSG it is better to avoid it. The excessive quantity of MSG are harmful for the health of the pregnant women hence it is better to not consume it.

Why Should Pregnant Women Avoid Eating Chinese Food?

The problem with Chinese food is the large amount of MSG present. There are people who are allergic to MSG which will cause allergic reaction in them. The allergic reaction involves headaches, cold and hot flushes. Hence it is better to not eat Chinese during pregnancy as it may aggravate your pregnancy symptoms like nausea, dizziness, vomiting etc.

Is it Harmful to Eat Chinese during Pregnancy?

In accordance with some studies some portion of MSG has been shown to cross the placental barrier. Once crossing the placental barrier it can affect the nervous system and brain of the foetus. Then the large quantity of sodium present in the food leads to problem like blood pressure, bloating and even dehydration. So there is no need to take risk when one can avoid it. For those who cannot live without it, try out the Chinese which has herbs in it and the ones with low quantity of MSG after seeking approval from your doctor.

Is it Good to Eat Chinese during Pregnancy?

Chinese cuisine has a lot of variety of food. In fact there are some food items which have been considered healthy for the pregnant women as well. These include the Chinese ginger, Fresh tofu, Chinese tea, Conjees. But it is advisable to talk to the doctor or the mid wives before taking any new food dish of the Chinese cuisine to ensure safety.
The MSG found in Chinese food is specifically no for those who are allergic to it. Then there is the sodium content which makes it even more harmful. So it better to not consume it during pregnancy.
