Managing Motherhood And Your Profession

Know how to manage your motherhood along with your profession smoothly. Read the following article to find some simple and useful tips.

Motherhood, a full time profession of every mother. No matter how old your child is, you tend to treat him or her as an infant. It is true that your children might not require your guidance and help after they reach their teen years, but can you really let go and not worry about your them?

Motherhood starts way before your child is born, it starts as soon as you discover you are pregnant. And it is true that mothers end up giving up on their dreams sometimes, to invest all their time and energy on their children. But let us hold that thought for a minute and ask ourselves, is that really necessary?

A woman is capable of handling various tasks at once, all by herself. Motherhood does not have to hold you back, in fact, it makes you stronger and you discover your real potential. The feeling of living your dream and also raising a child is no less than a feeling a warrior would feel. When you are on your feet 24 x 7, making sure your child is eating well, studying, sleeping peacefully, and managing your work alongside, it accounts for a lot of effort and you must learn to embrace and appreciate yourself for that.

You will never stop being a mother but if you decide to continue working alongside, you just have to find a balance between your personal and work life. Yes, sounds like a task, but you can do it!

Things You Must Keep In Mind If You Are A Working Mother

It may look impossible but it really is not. There are so many ways to manage motherhood and your work simultaneously. Some of them are:

1) Dividing Time With Your Spouse

You and your husband must create a time table, where you assign duties for each parent, you can divide the daily chores among yourselves and build an understanding where you both spend equal time at work and at parenting.

2) Hiring Help

There will be some times when both the parents are not available, in such situations you can always seek help from family members who can babysit for you or you can hire professional help. There are professional babysitters who can make your job easier, there are day care centres who organize fun activities for your children. In this way you are making sure your kid is under good care and is also learning something. And no, this does not make you a bad parent, seeking help can really help you create a balance in your life. You do not always have to be around your child. With professional help you actually influence your child's growth as they interact with more people and do not stay reserved in their comfort zone.

3) Freelance Or Work From Home

If you are a new mother and need some more time before you go out and work, you can try freelancing and working from home, this insures flexible timings. This way you are taking care of your infant and also not giving up on your dream. You can assign a few hours of your day to your work. This will keep you connected to your profession and prevent you from forgetting your work roots.

How To Make Sure You Do Not Stress Yourself Out

With work and motherhood, it is pretty normal to end up getting stressed out. This could make you feel anxious and depressed. Some ways to prevent that are as follows:

1) Taking Constant Breaks

You must reward yourself with constant breaks. You can treat yourself with a day of spa and relaxation. With your never-ending list of daily chores, you'd really be thankful for that spa treat you gave yourself. After all, self care can really prevent your mental peace and also make you more efficient.

2) Eating Well

As mothers, you all always make sure that your children are eating well. But do not forget to eat your "healthy" meals on time.

3) Planning Your Day

Journals and time tables are so underrated. Once you start planning your day in advance, you will realize how effective an efficient your day has become. Just write down your tasks and assign time durations for each task.

4) Meditation

This is such an easy way to get you through a busy and stressful day. Five minutes of deep breathing and meditation can make you stress free and loosen the burden from your shoulders.

Do not give up on your dream, everything is manageable and possible if you have the will. Working mothers really set an example for their children, they will grow up to be more focused and learning from their working parents, they will understand the importance of hard work.
