Prayers have healing powers and they can be recited anytime of the day. Here are short prayers of different Indian religions. Prayer is just not a religious practice but a way to find peace and happiness. It is a form of communication with God and can be in form of songs or words. It takes a person closer to God and helps him find his ‘Real Self’. Prayers fulfill different purposes such as for help, to absolve from sins, or for guidance. Every religion has own set of prayers and all prayers lead to the same goal ‘God’. Here are some common prayers from different religions.
Hindu Prayer
Lord Ganesha is the most prominent deity and is always worshiped before any other God. The foremost prayer for invocation to Lord Ganesha is:
Vakratunda Mahaakaaya Suryakoti Samaprabhaa.
Nirvighnam Kurumedeva Sarvakaaryeshu Sarvadaa. This means that ‘Oh Lord with a curved trunk and mighty body, having brightness of million suns; I pray to you to remove all the obstacles from all the work or activities that I intend to do.
Islamic Prayer
Here is a short prayer asking for forgiveness from Allah and this can be used anytime.
Astaghferullaha Rabbi Min Kulle Zumbin Wa Atoobo Ileh. This means ‘I seek Allah to forgive me for my sins and I am turning to Him’.
Catholic Prayer
Here is short prayer to Lord Jesus:
May the grace of Christ, our Savior, And the Father's boundless love, With the Holy Spirit's favor, Rest upon us from above.Thus may we abide in union with each other and the Lord and possess, in sweet communion, Joys which earth cannot afford.

Sikh Prayer
Here is a short prayer known as ‘Ardas’ and this is done before a significant task or after reciting prayers or completion of a service.

Jee-O Pind Sabh Tayree Raas.
Tum Maat Pitaa Ham Baarik Tayray.
Tumree Kirpaa Meh Sookh Ghanayray.
Ko-Ay Na Jaanai Tumraa Ant.This means that ‘To our Lord, I offer this prayer. This body and soul are your property and you are our mother and father; we are your children. There are many joys in your grace and nobody knows your limits.’
Jain Prayer
Here is a short prayer known as ‘Navkaar Mantra’. All Jains start their day with this and they ask for forgiveness and bliss through this.

Reverence to saints in the world who practice non-violence,
Reverence for all life in action,
This fivefold reverence helps to remove all sins and is most auspicious blessing.
Buddhist Prayer
