How to Buy and Use Disposable Diapers

How to Buy and Use Disposable Diapers

Diapers are one of the baby products that no parents can avoid buying. Although, there is an on-going debate on whether cloth diapers are good or disposable ones, there are products in the market that are equally good.

Disposable diapers have become the need of the day and many new parents find this fitting in their lifestyle and budget perfectly. One of the biggest advantage is that nowadays disposable diapers available in the market are equally comfortable and do not hinder the movement of the baby as well.

So, if you have decided to buy disposable diapers for your baby, you need to know how to buy them so that you bring home the right type of diapers suitable for your baby and your budget.

Tips on How to Buy Disposable Diapers

Have a quick look at some useful tips on buying diapers for your baby.

Start with Small Diaper Purchase

It is natural to get attracted towards offers that promise to give you several cases of diapers at a good price. But if you are buying for a newborn or you are preparing for the coming child, there is no need to buy lot of diapers of the same size. Some newborn children do not stay in the same size of the diapers for long.

Diapers With or Without Cord Cut-Out

Although there are diapers available with a cut-out for the umbilical cord to stay free, there is no need to buy them unless specially recommended by the doctor because this state is not for long and you can use the diaper by folding the upper part a little down.

Finding the Best Disposable Diaper Brand

With so many brands available in the market, it is really challenging to buy the best diaper brand for your child. It is good to try one packet of diapers so that you can see whether the diapers are skin friendly or not and whether they leak from anywhere or they are reliable ones. Choose the brand that provides you line of baby products and has many years of experience in this field. Such companies provide you with disposable diapers of different sizes including both open and pant diapers so that you can choose according to your convenience.

How to Use Disposable Diapers

Here are some tips on using disposable diapers for your baby.

Preparation

It is very important to gather all needed items beforehand because you will not be able to leave the changing place unless completely done. Often the items are disposable diaper, baby wipes, diaper rash ointment and a change of clothing, if necessary.

Do Not Leave the Baby in the Middle

If you have to leave the changing place for any reason, take the baby with you or make someone take care of the baby while you return. Do not leave your baby alone on the changing table or bed as it can be risky.

Removal of the Used Diaper

When you need to change the diaper of your baby, it is important you place your infant on a flat and comfortable place. Make sure you check the diaper before removing it because if the diaper is soiled you need to use baby wipe immediately to wipe off the area properly. It is good to use another wipe to wipe the area and let it dry for few seconds before you replace the new diaper.

Replacement of the New Diaper

Gently hold the ankles of the baby with one hand and place the diaper under the bottom of your child. Fasten up the sides so that your child is set free to throw his legs and hands in the air. Make sure you wash your hand thoroughly before and after changing and disposing off the used diaper.

Make sure that you check your baby’s diapers frequently and change it whenever required. Also, allow some diaper free time to your baby so that diaper rashes can be avoided. In case if you find that your baby is coping with diaper rashes, consult your doctor immediately. Avoid using over-the-counter diaper rash cream and use the one which is prescribed by your doctor.
