Veg Kabab Recipe

Ingredients- Medium sized potato – 1
- Chopped florets of cauliflower – 3/4 cup
- Small or medium sized carrot – 1
- Button mushrooms – 6 to 7
- Onion – 1 medium sized
- Green peas – 1/4 cup
- Mint leaves – 14 – 15
- Chopped coriander leaves – 2 tablespoon
- Ginger-garlic paste – 1/2 tea spoon
- Besan or gram flour – 10 tablespoons
- Salt – as per the taste
- Turmeric powder – 1/4 tea spoon
- Chilli powder – 1/4 tea spoon
- Garam masala powder – 1/2 tea spoon
ProcedureFollow this quick procedure for making delicious veg kababs.
- Wash the vegetables well and cut them into pieces.
- Grind all the vegetables along with coriander and mint leaves together to form a fine mince using a mixer grinder or a food processor.
- Take all the vegetables in a bowl and add all dry spices and ginger garlic paste to it.
- Mix well and set aside
- Heat a pan and add besan or gram flour to it.
- Keep the flame low and roast besan till the colour changes and you can feel the good aroma of roasted besan.
- Add this to the bowl of vegetable mixture and mix thoroughly.
- Add salt to the mixture
- Make round balls with the mixture. If the mixture cracks, you need to add more besan. Add and mix gradually.
- Flatten each ball and either bake them by putting them on a greased baking tray or shallow fry them on a flat pan set on the gas stove.
- When baking the kababs, preheat the oven for 15 minutes and when they are half done, take the tray out and brush the kababs with a little bit of oil.
- Kababs are done when they are golden brown and slightly crisp.
It does not matter whether you fry or bake them, the kababs are going to be liked by your kids. Serve them warm with chutney or ketchup, depending on the choice of your child.
Veg Shammi Kabab Recipe
Let us take a look at the ingredients for making veg shammi kabab.
Ingredients- Dried black chickpeas – 1 cup
- Medium sized onion – 1 (finely chopped)
- Mint leaves – 1 tablespoon (chopped)
- Coriander leaves – 1 tablespoon (chopped)
- Green chilli – 1 (chopped)
- Ginger-garlic past – 1/2 tea spoon
- Red chilli powder – 1/4 tea spoon
- Garam masala powder – 1/2 tea spoon
- Gram flour (besan) – 2 table spoon
- Salt as per the taste
- Oil for frying – 2 tablespoon
ProcedureHere is how you can make mouth-watering veg shammi kababs.
- Soak the black chickpeas overnight or for 6 to 7 hours
- Pressure cook the peas with salt and enough water till they are done.
- Once the pressure settles down, drain the water
- Put the chicken peas in a large bowl and mash them with a wooden spoon or blender.
- Do not smoothen the mixture a lot
- Now add all the other ingredients and mix well
- Make small balls and flatten them in the form of kababs
- Take a flat bottomed pan and add some oil to it
- Shallow fry the kababs on medium flame
- You can bake the kababs in oven as well. Just make sure you preheat the oven for 15 minutes and take the baking tray out when the kababs are half done to brush them with oil and then put them in the oven.
- Serve the kababs with chutney or ketchup depending on what your child prefers.
