Getting the child adjusted in a preschool is a Herculean task for some parents. The daily routine of the child goes in for a toss and he finds himself in a totally new environment. Assure him that you are there to help him and support him regardless of the situation. Be affectionate and loving and then try to talk things out. Like what is it that is troubling him. Once the kid is assured about your compassion, he will readily open up and you will be able to get into the root of the problem.
Tendency to Disobey and Detestation towards Routines
This is a common challenge faced by parents of preschoolers. The kids are subjected to do every thing according to the clock. There is a fixed schedule that they have to follow and no deviation is allowed. Certain kids who prefer to do things at their own pace find this annoying and they develop an aversion towards the very word ‘routine’. Although they have been used to do things according to routines at home but somehow when they are told by another person (teacher) to follow a schedule, they feel that their freedom is curtailed.
This issue can also be sorted out through heart to heart talking. The child needs to be explained patiently how following the routine makes it easier to get the work done on time. Parents should teach them that the teachers at the preschool are also their friends that they are there to help him out whenever the need arises.
The Daily Activities get Affected like Diet, Toilet and Sleep
Often the preschool has a different schedule for all these activities that are a bit different from what the child is used to at home. So the parents find that the kid does not want to eat at the usual time or his toilet schedule has gone haywire or he is reluctant to go to bed or falls asleep during the activity period. This also affects the behavior of the child and he becomes irritable and might be whining throughout the day.

Basically, these unusual behaviors become a natural worry for the parents as they consider these as challenges to their parenting. But with a bit of practical sense, and plenty of patience and relaxed attitude, these so called challenges can be dealt with pretty easily. The child is able to absorb the qualities of the environment more easily than adults and so with a bit of patience and alleviating the cause of the problem, you can easily gift him an enjoyable childhood.
