My daughter is 3months, 3weeks old. She is a pre-term baby, born in 35th week with a birth weight of 2.07kgs. Her current weight is 5kgs. She is on Lacotogen-1. I feed her around 680ml of milk per day at 75ml per feed. Is this quantity sufficient for her weight? Also after each feed, she vomits. How much ever of burping/holding her upright doesnt help. My doc prescribed Aristozyme digestive enzyme drops. Inspite of giving these drops, her vomiting continues. Doc says as long as she is gaining weight, it shud be fine but i' m concerned b' coz due to these vomitings she stays awake after feeds till late night.

Hoping to get solution for my problems from this forum.

Padmaja Swapna replied. reflux is a common phenomenon in babies.How much does she spi up? if it' s a little ,then maybe you' ve fed her more than her little tummy can handle.If it' s a lot ,then it' s reflux. If despite medication ,your baby spits up a lot,you need to report it to the ped. Im not sure if you can try this w/o consulting your doctor,but a lot of mommies thicken the bottle with a spoon of rice cereal . The thicker the formula is, it stays better in the tummy. You also get formula specially thickened with rice starch for babies with reflux. Check with your ped if you can do this.
It can be really frustrating to have spit ups constantly and if it' s considerable ,your baby could be losing the vital nutrients.
I can only think of this much.
