Radhika,
My appt. is on Wednesday. I have started doing the \";walk-after-meal\"; routine, although I had been excercising and doing yoga pretty regularly even before.
Avi, you are right about the high frequency of diabetes amongst indains...in fact we have the dubious distinction of being #1 as far as diabetes is concerned. I have been talking to other people with the condition, and have calmed down now !( thanks to you all too!).
On another subject, I walk around downtown SF and just WANT to buy some new clothes (NOT MATERNITY!). WEll, we don't have that much longer...then we can go back to being the fashion models! I bought most of my stuff at Old Navy..its trendy and cheap!
Will keep you updated about the nutitionists comments.
Priya

that's a good attitude to have Priya, no point worrying about it. I am glad you are dealing with it the way it ought to be dealt with-calmly...

I will pay a visit to Old navy one of these days cause all I have as far as maternity clothes are a few tops. I've been wearing my sweats and my regular jeans - unbuttoned-. Unbuttoned jeans are a pain in the behind if you ask me :).....I have to keep an eye on it and keep pulling it up cause it keeps falling off my back side.. :)that's what happens to lazy people like me...

Yes Radhika, I do have my test at 4 pm today. Thanks....

I didn't do anything different as far as my diet for todays test and am trying to take it as it comes.
So many of us (on the OCT board too)have come back positive inspite of no family history, normal weight etc etc, it makes me think that may be our being Indian might have something to do with it.
Anyways.....I'll know pretty soon :)

Hey, although an extra pair of shoes never hurt, a crib would be a great idea too. Man, I am so far behind in doing any shopping whatsoever.
It's nice that you dont have to crib and complain and fret every morning about having nothing to wear....

I did find a website for a factory outlet online store (for baby furniture) and they seem to look nice and sturdy and cost much lower than our regular store prices. Will have to do more research. I was planning to set aside a few weekends by the end of next month or early October to do it. I will be off of work from the middle of next month and I know I will go nuts at home, so I am setting everything aside until then. Hope it wont get too hectic.

That's so cool that you work in the Fashion industry. I am getting sick of sitting in front of the computer the whole day. I should have stuck to my math major (may be I would have got to work on more interesting stuff) instead of changing it to engineering.......What kinda work do you do???? Correct me if I am wrong, but you do live in the bay area right???? (I get confused with you and the other Oct board RAdhika)..If so, do you work in the city???

Hi again!!!

I work in the fashion industry, so it really pinches to see all this cool stuff and not be able to fit into any of that. My maternity wardrobe is pretty sufficient as of now...but the itch to get something new is always there ;-). Maybe a new handbag or a new pair of shoes will do the trick. Or maybe a crib will ...

Are you planning on registering at any of the baby stores??

Dustin Hoffman's Graduate, yeah, I did watch bits and pieces of it on and off while flipping channels but never the entire movie. Will surely check it out.

You are right about GD and our community. Just a few of us have tested postive, but ever since my test was scheduled all I seem to hear on our boards is the not so good news or may be that's what I've been focusing on.

I am at work too and cant seem to get myself to any work either. Check our gap maternity online if you get a chance, they do have some nice lookin ones.
The thing with me and clothes is that I feel iffy to wear the "pregnant women garb", but alas, I am pregnant and I need to succumb to the pregnant women clothes ala Motherhood, pea in the pod etc etc :) Pea in the pod is really really expensive though and I dont know if I want to spend so much for something that I wont wear (hopefully) after 3 months...

Avi...

Well the fact is that the incident of GD in SouthAsians is significantly higher than in any other race. So it is an ethnic thing as well. But, I feel that the % of ladies turning up positive isnt really a true indicator of GD in our community (We are a lucky bunch, very few of us are testing positive)!!

Good luck anyways. I am sure you'll be fine.

Graduate was awesome. Its based on the Dustin Hpffman movie from the 60's (The one with "Mrs Robinson" by Simon and Garfunkel). You must see it, pretty enjoyable.

Today's one of those days when I just can work.....am dying to go shopping, not that I fit into anything halfway decent anymore. Welllllll....gotta do what you gotta do!!

Take care.

Hi,
Does anyone know if there is a Diaper Service Provider in Bangalore? They generally provide cloth diapers and replace them with a new set every 2-3 days.

Thanks in advance
