HEy guys.. Hope everyone had a great weekend and did lots of fun things much like our own Simmi. :)

I have a question for you this monday morning. I feel most of the movements across my abdomen (horizontally). The movements make me feel like the baby is lying horizontally and not vertically (head down or head up). Sometimes, the movements make me worry that maybe the baby is trying to move head down or head up and isn't able to do so.

HOw about you guys????? Do the movements give you any idea as to how/where the baby is???

Any input will be greatly appreciated.

Simmi replied. Hey Avi. Glad to know we r all in the same boat. I too feel horizontal movements, though moves from top of the belly to bottom part. There are times when I feel a punch rather than the kick. Yesterday, Monday, even I felt stronger movement than before and wondered if the baby had enough room. But still a while to go and I keep wondering, will I have enough room seeing that I am big already!! Well, others don't think so, but I feel BIG.

Yesterday, I felt a bum (above my belly button and to the right of it)come up and stay that way for a few secs and bop up and down and it was pretty strong (it felt like the head) and it happened more than 4 or 5 times. I was kinda worried that may be the baby didn't have enough space inside to move to a comfortable postion.
I will bring it up with my doc today evening when I meet her and will keep you updated.

RAdhika, isn't graduate a musical and the plot is kinda similar to Jerry Hall's life with MIck Jagger???? I heard about it but never watched it. I will watch it next weekend since you say it was pretty good.

I am also feeling only horizontal movements yet. I had asked my doc about the baby's position in my last visit, and she told me its too early to think about it yet. I feel different kinds of movements though, I can generally tell if its a kick (its usually on the sides) or a hiccup. I sometimes also feel a little wiggling which feels like baby's moving from one side to the other.

I too feel movements horizontally across the abdomen. I don't think its anything to worry about right now. We still have a few more weeks to go before baby needs to be head down. Since I've just started my childbirth classes, I know that if the baby is in breech position late in pregnancy, the doctors can physically turn it around from outside. I am not quite sure about the horizontal position, though. Regardless, don't worry about it now. As long as the baby is moving, eveything should be fine.

Glad to hear your swelling's better. I have been grappling with this question as well. I feel movements above my belly button, and suddenly the punches seem to be coming down right on my bladder. So the only conclusion, is that either my lil one is moving around a lot or he has long hands and feet. ;-)

Jokes apart, I do intend on asking the Doc about the posiion at my next appointment. Do let me know if you hear anything.

My weekend was relatively easy as well. Saw Jerry Hall in the \";Graduate\"; was awesome.
