Last month i travelled from US to India with my one year old son. He usally eats solids but in flight he didnt eat anything and kept on breastfeeding exclusively. In both honk kong and singapore airports there were family rooms which was easier for me to breastfeed him. Even in the flight most of the time the lights were switched off and i didnt care abt anyone and was breastfeeding my kid. So dont worry abt anything. Just feel comfortable and carry on.

Cheers,
Meetu

Hey,

Dont worry I have travelled to india when my daughter was just 1.5 months old and thrice after that. Most of the airports in the US have a seperate room either called a family room or child care room. Juat ask at the information counter in the airport they should be able to guide you. I was lucky at the indianapolis airport they also had a rocking chair. In flight feed ur baby whenever he is hungry. Just carry a thick dupatta with you since the blanket provided inflight might make the baby feel warm. some airline provide a bassinet in the form of a chair...if u think ur son wont fit into the basket shaped bassinet. Relax n enjoy ur flight and ur stay in India.

Breastfeeding is a natural process. I' ve done it while in planes with a scarf on..Don' t be too embarrased about it...Noone actually cares too much about a mother breastfeeding a baby . So just relax and feed your baby when he is hungry wherever it is.

visited this board after a long time. i too travelled to india with my 4.5 months old who was excl breastfed. but with little bit of privacy everything is easy. i fed him on the airport nursing room before queuing. then when the plane took off. wear loose fitting clothes like a trouser and a T-shirt. take a poncho with you or a shawl. i took a poncho but it made me feel hot. don' t worry its not that difficult.

it depends on the airport of ur country. i am in the UK and they hv got excellent facilities for baby change and feeding. there is a separate feeding room.its always near to toilets and baby change. so check with ur airport beforehand. yes, i had booked a bassinet too. while going my baby was 4.5 months so could fit easily in the bassinet but while returning he was almost 6 months and wouldn´ t fit comfortably in it. ofcourse, i didn´ t hv any problems though. book the bassinet when you book you tickets. also, check if it is given on a first come first serve basis. in that case you will need to check in early. hope this helps.
